Posted 10 November 2014 by Isabelle Grange
With a rich history, renowned architecture and plenty to keep residents of all ages busy, Norwich is very attractive to homebuyers. There are a range of new homes for sale in and around the city, and here’s our guide to some of the best options currently available.
At the heart of the city sits Charles Church's Brazen Plain. This development consists of stylish one- and two-bedroom apartments ideal for young professionals buying their first home, or investors looking for a property with excellent rental potential, and four-bedroom homes with flexible space that would be well-suited to family life. Priced from £125,213, these properties offer buyers a rare opportunity to secure a new build home in a prime city centre location.
Staying in the centre, Taylor Wimpey’s NR1 development features luxury one- and two-bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom duplex penthouse apartments ranging in price from £150,995 to £394,995. Spread across six blocks, these slick, contemporary apartments are ideal for first-time buyers, investors, and those who are looking for a second home in a handy central location.
Several developers are currently building homes in the small town of Sprowston, which borders Norwich and is less than three miles from the centre. With the beautiful Norfolk countryside on its doorstep and the Broads nearby, Sprowston is an easy location for commuters who do not want to live right in the heart of the city.
Norfolk Homes is building modern European- and Scandinavian-inspired homes at Manor Reach, with properties due for release in summer 2015. These energy-efficient homes will incorporate features such as large floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious vaulted rooms, open-plan layouts and balconies. Many of the homes will enjoy views over Sprowston Manor Golf Course, and all properties will benefit from green spaces, including creative planting and open areas.
Taylor Wimpey is building a collection of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes in Sprowston that will appeal to a wide range of people, from first-time buyers through to large families. Persimmon Homes will also be offering a collection of new homes in Sprowston at Millers Field, with further details due to be released in the near future.
Surrounded by mature woodland in the parish of Costessey, about seven miles from the centre of Norwich, Bovis Homes has a range of new two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes on offer at Woodland Park. A new family-style pub has already opened here, and a community centre offers residents a focal point for village activities. As a guide to prices, The Portman is a three-bedroom town house priced at £194,950, and The Beaumont is a detached four-bedroom property priced at £229,950.
