WhatHouse? Location Ratings For Finance Explained
Posted 15 November 2023 byÂ
Keith OsborneWhatHouse? has just launched its Location Ratings index to provide house-hunters with detailed, up-to-date scores on many different aspects of the places they want to live.
Working with data experts CLSQ, we assess the latest information to give every current new homes development a rating under several core topics, including Finance.
Finances are the fundamental thing on which our choice of new home is based, but aside from what you can afford to borrow and the price cap you must consider, there’s the ongoing running costs to consider too, and what may happen to the value of your home before you sell it in the future. It’s these elements that we use to calculate our Finance rating, including:
- From government figures, how have property prices changed in the area/district you’re looking to buy a home over the past year and past five years?
- What is the average EPC rating on the development you’re enquiring about?
Combined, these give a comprehensive score in what to expect from the area around your potential brand new home in terms of running costs and investment potential.
Example ratings: Top 5 ranking developments for finance in the West = Midlands region::
