WhatHouse? Location Ratings For Health & Wellbeing Explained
Posted 15 November 2023 byÂ
Keith OsborneWhatHouse? has just launched its Location Ratings index to provide house-hunters with detailed, up-to-date scores on many different aspects of the places they want to live.
Working with data experts CLSQ, we assess the latest information to give every current new homes development a rating under the core topic of Health & Wellbeing.
From the outbreak of Covid in 2020, the health and quality of life for ourselves and our families has become more of a priority than ever, and one of the fundamental considerations in choosing where we live. There are a host of ingredients in measuring this, and we calculate our Health & Wellbeing rating using many factors, including:
- The proximity of places for active and natural leisure, such as playing fields and playgrounds, swimming and sports facilities, public open spaces and proximity to parks and allotments
- The level of air pollution
- Noise levels from road, rail and air transport
- The proximity of pylons and power lines
- Crime levels
- Road traffic collision data
Together, these give an in-depth score in what to expect for physical and mental health from the area around your potential brand new home.
