South East New Homes Round-up - The Latest New Homes For Sale

Posted 8 July 2019 by Rebecca Burns

The WhatHouse? team selects the latest new build homes for sale in counties across the South East of England...

The South East continues to see the largest fall in house prices of all UK regions – and while this is bad news for sellers, it could open a window of opportunity for prospective first time buyers to get onto the property ladder.

There’s no escaping the fact that the uncertainty around when the UK will leave the EU, and the terms under which it may happen, is causing property market nerves – amongst committed Brexiteers and staunch Remainers alike. The battle for leadership of the Conservative party is well underway, and the result will heavily influence the outcome of Brexit. As a result, many potential buyers and sellers are waiting until they know more about whether the UK will leave with a deal, but this could drag on – and it’s frustrating putting your life on hold for an indefinite period. Price drops in the South East mean it’s becoming more of a buyers’ market, so there are some deals to be found. And since buying a property is usually considered a long-term investment, even if there was a drop in value in the short term, the chances are the market would correct itself before it was time to move on. Add to this the fact that mortgage rates are very low at the moment, and prospects could be looking a little rosier for first time buyers in the region.
