South East New Homes Round-up - The Latest New Homes For Sale

Posted 21 May 2018 by Rebecca Burns

The WhatHouse? team selects the latest new build homes for sale in counties across the South East of England...

Surveyors say house prices have witnessed their biggest April fall for six years, with many areas of the South East finding that asking prices are not being achieved.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) said upper- and middle-priced tiers of the market are proving the most challenging of all: that is, those properties that are put on the market priced at £500,000 or more – which is, realistically, the cost of a family home in many parts of the South East.

This is bad news for many sellers, but potentially better news for buyers who have previously found themselves struggling to get a foot on the property ladder, and for those who wish to upsize to fit growing space requirements.

Our latest selection of current and upcoming developments across the South East feature options to suit first time buyers, where Help to Buy or Shared Ownership options are available, as well as some larger, more expensive properties.

Chantry Place in Canterbury, Kent (Orbit Homes)

Chantry Place (Orbit Homes)For buyers who want to live right in the heart of the city, these attractive, modern one- and two-bedroom apartments are set right in the thick of it, and are available on an outright sale basis as well as Shared Ownership - which should help many struggling first time buyers.

One-bedroom apartments can be bought on 35% share basis, for example, from £57,750, while two-bed apartments are available from £81,200 for a 35% share. There are also special offers currently available that offer flooring of the buyer's choice, as well as parking and travel incentives.

Canterbury is a sought-after place to live with a lively social scene and a great range of places to dine, drink, shop and explore. The nearby coastline includes popular spots such as Whitstable and Herne Bay, both of which are just a short drive away from Chantry Place.

Prices: From £57,750 for a 35% share in a one-bedroom apartment.
