New homes in North Lanarkshire offer varied choice for homebuyers

Homebuyers in search of a new property in North Lanarkshire will find themselves spoiled for choice.  Whether you’re looking for a bachelor pad in a bustling town or a large family home in a quiet area, there is something here to suit everyone.  Easy transport links across the central belt and a good choice of schools and colleges make this area very popular with families.

Bellway Homes offers a collection of three-, four- and five-bedroom family homes at its Crystal Park site in Airdrie.  Prices here start from £158,995 for a semi-detached property comprising a lounge, dining kitchen, cloakroom, master bedroom with fitted wardrobe and en-suite, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom.  At the opposite end of the scale, £275,995 buys a five-bedroom detached villa with features including a spacious open-plan breakfasting kitchen and dining area, two en-suites and a double garage.

Situated in Holytown near Motherwell, Cloverfields is a Persimmon Homes development of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties.  For example, the ‘Kearn’ house type is priced from £172,995.  The property’s entrance hallway leads to a formal living room on the left giving access to an open-plan kitchen, dining and family area, which acts as the hub of the home.  There is also a downstairs WC and an integral garage. Upstairs the master bedroom has an en-suite, while two further bedrooms and a family bathroom complete the picture.  The nearby railway station provides regular services to Glasgow and Edinburgh, both just 30 minutes away by train.  Along with easy access to the M8 motorway, this makes Holytown a popular base for commuters.

A couple of miles away, David Wilson Homes’ Phoenix Park development (pictured) is located on the former Ravenscraig steelworks site at Motherwell.  The area is benefitting from a massive regeneration project that will, on completion, become the country’s first new town in 50 years with over 3,500 new homes as well as a range of retail, commercial and leisure facilities.  David Wilson Homes has a wide variety of properties on the market here ranging from two-bedroom apartments at £94,995 to five-bedroom detached villas from £275,995.  Mid-sized families will find three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached and four-bedroom detached properties also offered.

Families looking to settle in North Lanarkshire may wish to look no further than Barratt Homes’ Parklands development in Coatbridge.  As well as being close to the Time Capsule swimming pool and ice rink and the Faraday Retail Park, there are 19 schools within a mile’s radius of the scheme, offering parents plenty of choice.  Here a semi-detached home with lounge, dining kitchen, cloakroom, three bedrooms and a family bathroom will set you back £158,000.

Taylor Wimpey’s Sycamore Way development in Chapelhall has a total of seven different house types to choose from.  For example, the ‘Balfour’ end-terrace house type comes in at £135,000 and includes a living/dining room, kitchen, downstairs WC, three bedrooms, a bathroom and ample storage.  A selection of two- and four-bedroom properties is also available here, with prices starting at £114,995.
