Bellway unveils show home at Rutland new homes development

Posted 10 September 2013

Bellway Homes has signalled the start of a major housing development in Rutland with the launch of The Maltings, a development that will bring some 200 homes to the village of Barleythorpe. The Maltings forms part of the wider Oakham North development which will create 1,100 new homes on land between Barleythorpe, Lands' End Way in Oakham and the Oakham bypass.

The developer marked the occasion with the unveiling of a new show house at the site and a champagne reception.

"We were lucky with the weather and were pleased with the turnout for the launch," says Bellway Homes sales manager Jane Yolland. We've had some really positive feedback so far and have already sold three homes off-plan. The larger properties in particular have attracted a lot of interest from families looking for more space."

The Maltings will provide a huge variety of property types with one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes set to be built at the development. Among these, there will be 35 affordable homes, which will be a mixture of rented and shared ownership tenure.

Sales advisor for Bellway Homes, Keely Nixon, grew up in Rutland and has returned to the county for her new role. "It's fantastic to be back in Rutland and Barleythorpe is a beautiful place to come to work every day," she says. "The sales office has been getting busier as more people have learned we are here and we've had a steady stream of visitors to the show home since it opened."

The show home is open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.00pm, with late opening on Thursdays until 7.30pm.
