North Yorkshire has bustling cities, picturesque towns and cities while 40% of the county is covered by beautiful countryside such as the Yorkshire Dales. Towns like Middlesbrough Scarborough and Harrogate have a proud heritage as well as all the services and amenities you'd expect and there are also lovely seaside towns and spectacular landscapes. Amongst the numerous delights of North Yorkshire is its county town of York. It's one of the most historic locations you'll find with many archaeological marvels such as its Minster. North Yorkshire is a region that has good schools and its transport needs are served by the A1 that leads north to Scotland and south to London. Similarly, for rail services, it's served by the East Coast Main Line. A train to London or Edinburgh takes, roughly, around two hours in either direction.
