South-Facing Gardens Of New Homes In the North East

Barratt Developments has a number of houses in the North East which come with a sought-after south-facing garden...

Former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year Barratt Developments is busy at sites across the North East of England and there are a few of the properties for sale right now that come with a sought-after south-facing garden in which to enjoy a full day of sunshine.

At sites under the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, we take a look at some brand new homes for sale with south-facing gardens – with the bonus of some great financial deals as well.

Cherry Tree Park lies in the coastal village of Ryhope, just minutes from the beach at Seaham and only four miles from Sunderland. Families will see great benefits to this location, being within the catchment area of schools rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Barratt Homes has three- and four-bedroom homes available to reserve now. It’s been a very popular site, so there are only eight properties remaining for sale here. There are some great offers on selected plots here, where you can save up to £12,000 towards your move.

With a south-facing garden is the detached ‘Ennerdale’, at £269,995. Plot 324 is in a quiet location on a private road. Off one side of the hallway is a dual-aspect lounge, off the other is another dual-aspect room, the kitchen/diner, which has impressive worktop and storage space, and French doors to the garden. There’s some great storage and a WC completing the ground floor. Upstairs, bedroom one has an en suite and the other two bedrooms share the bathroom. Find out more about Cherry Tree Park from Barratt Homes.

On the same site, David Wilson Homes has also seen success here, but there are some great four-bedroom house types still available here, with prices starting at £344,995. For a south-facing garden, coming soon is an example of the ‘Holden’, one of this housebuilder’s most popular detached properties. Plot 89 is set in a cul de sac and comes with a single detached garage. At the front of the house are a bay-windowed lounge and a study, while at the rear, the garden can be reached through French doors in the feature glazed bay, or from the utility room. There’s a downstairs cloakroom and some great understairs storage. Upstairs, all four bedrooms are comfortable doubles, one with en suite, the others sharing a family bathroom. The ‘Norbury’ house typeThe ‘Norbury’ house type at Burdon Green

Burdon Green is a development located in the semi-rural community of Coxhoe, south-east of Durham but within easy reach of the city centre and, for destinations further afield, just a couple of minutes from the A1(M). There’s also some lovely countryside and an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' primary school nearby. Among the three- and four-bedroom homes currently for sale here is the ‘Norbury’ on Plot 57, which is priced at £219,995 and comes with a large south-facing garden. It’s a semi-detached house set over three floors, with two private parking spaces. Off the hallway are the cloakroom and the kitchen, and at the rear are French doors to the garden from the lounge/dining room. There are two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and the top floor is dedicated to a large double bedroom with dressing area and en suite shower room. Find out more about Burdon Green.

Sycamore Grove is in Newcastle upon Tyne and comprises a mix of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes with starting prices currently from £281,995 to £465,995. Deals on some plots include deposit boost, a Key Worker Deposit Contribution scheme and Part Exchange. It’s only ten minutes from home here to the centre of the city, with Walkergate Metro station and some useful local shops only three minutes away. Plot 64 and Plot 65 are neighbouring terraced townhouses with south-facing gardens, and priced from £289,995 and £291,995 respectively. On the ground floor, there’s a kitchen off the dining/family room, and there are French doors to the outside. There’s a cloakroom and some very useful storage space off the hallway, and a room that could act as a fourth bedroom or a secluded home office. On the first floor are a lounge and an en suite double bedroom, while on the top floor are two more bedrooms and a bathroom. Find out more about Sycamore Grove.
