Home of the Day – The ‘Holden’, David Wilson Homes

Posted 31 July 2020 by Keith Osborne

Our favourite new home for sale is the ‘Holden’, a house from David Wilson Homes available across southern England…

The WhatHouse? team takes a close look at our current favourite new build home for sale – today it is the ‘Holden’, a four-bedroom house style which David Wilson Homes is offering at a number of developments across the South East and South West.

The ‘Holden’ is a double-fronted detached house that can appeal to all kinds of buyers, especially families and downsizers who still want a spacious and flexible home. At the front of the house is a study, and a sitting room with bay window. The kitchen is a perfect space for entertaining as its open-plan design includes a dining area and access to the back garden, and the walk-in glazed bay floods the room with natural light, while the separate utility room provides extra practical space. Upstairs comprises four three double bedrooms, with the master bedroom offering an en suite, a single bedroom, and a family bathroom for all to share.

Hampshire house-hunters can find a ‘Holden’ on Plot 232 at King’s Chase in Romsey, priced from £600,000, a new release which comes with a large, south-facing garden. King’s Chase is a collection of three- and four-bedroom homes in this traditional market town which is close to Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury and Bournemouth and just minutes from The New Forest. The development will also be home to excellent new sports facilities and pitches.

In Gloucester is Rosewood Grange, where a ‘Holden’ starts at £428,000 on Plot 52, which comes with an upgraded kitchen worth up to £4,000, and with a garage and two parking spaces. Keen buyers can actually take a tour of this house type here, as Plot 131 is a ‘Holden’ show home. The development in Hunts Grove and is a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses just six miles from the city centre and close to numerous schools and the convenience of the M5.

This house type has just been released on Plot 48 for £577,500 at Quarter Jack Park, near the Dorset market town of Wimborne Minster. For residents of this development of three- and four-bedroom houses, there are excellent links to Bournemouth, Poole, and Southampton, many local nursery, primary and secondary schools to choose from (including Beaucroft Foundation School, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted) and plenty of delightful parks and countryside to explore.

Plot 129 at Dickens Gate in Staplehurst, Kent is a ‘Holden’, priced from £555,995 and with a west-facing garden and an upgrade of up to £2,980 of integrated kitchen appliances. The large village is located in beautiful countryside just nine miles south of Maidstone, and 16 miles east of Tonbridge. Staplehurst station offers direct trains taking you into London Bridge in less than an hour, and in the opposite direction to the hub of Ashford.

Show homes and marketing suites are open by appointment only to adhere to strict health and safety regulations. At all David Wilson Homes sites, ask about Help to Buy, Part Exchange and discounts for NHS and Armed Forces buyers.
