Rupert Bates

Rupert Bates, one of the leading property journalists in the country, is editorial director of What House Digital and Globespan Media and is a co-founder of the business, having covered the new homes industry for 25 years.

Rupert is editorial director of new homes portal WhatHouse.com and its regional newspapers and edits Show House magazine, the leading trade title for UK housebuilders, which for the last three years has been crowned Magazine of the Year at the Property Press Awards. Rupert has also won Columnist of the Year accolades at the Awards.

Rupert hosts the annual What House? Awards, the oscars of the housebuilding industry, rewarding the best new homes in Britain, and is property correspondent of The Field magazine.

He worked for The Daily Telegraph covering property and sport and has appeared regularly on national television and radio, giving his views on the property market at home and abroad and has been a judge for many property industry awards.

Keith Osborne

Keith Osborne, editor of WhatHouse? has edited the Whathouse.com website for over five years, and has written regularly for leading housebuilding industry magazine Show House. He has previously worked on Homes Overseas magazine and has been a judge many times for both the What House? Awards and the Homes Overseas Awards.

Helen Christie

Helen Christie is the digital news editor for Whathouse.com. With a degree in English and a Masters in Journalism, Helen has previously worked as a writer for ASOS and Camden Market. She has also worked on a freelance basis to produce content for brands such as British Gas, Monarch, Shop Pyramid and Simplify Digital.

Isla MacFarlane

Isla MacFarlane is the digital news editor for Show House. Isla trained as a journalist on her local paper in south east England and has since worked on magazines and websites across the UK, South India and the UAE; covering topics ranging from travel and entertainment to business and banking.

Isla moved to Dubai in 2008 as the editor of Private Equity and Hedge Funds Middle East. Isla holds a BA in English Literature from Bath Spa University and a post graduate qualification in Production Journalism from the National Council for the Training of Journalists.

Kate Faulkner

Kate Faulkner is one of the UK’s leading property experts. Kate analyses what’s happening to the economy, property prices and rents, and the impact this has on consumers and indeed the industry.

Kate regularly features on national and local TV, radio and newspapers giving her thoughts on the market, housing policy and carries out one to one advice on a consultancy basis for the industry and the general public.

Nick Parkhouse

Having worked in the financial services industry since 1995, Nick has written on mortgages, property and personal finance for publications including The Times, Mortgage Strategy, Financial Advisor, City Life and the Mail on Sunday.

Nick has also written for two of the UK's leading financial services comparison websites and has made appearances in the broadcast media as a finance expert, including interviews on the BBC News channel.

As well as writing about finance and property, Nick also writes about a range of subjects including music, sport and films. He is a music and concert reviewer for several major East Midlands publications and his second book, The Complete James Bond Themes, is set to be published in late 2016.

Richenda Oldham

Richenda Oldham is a versatile and creative interiors, design and property journalist who has been writing, editing and sub-editing for over two decades. She contributes to leading home interest titles such as Ideal Home, Your Home, Period Living and BBC Homes & Antiques, covering everything from real homes stories and buyers guides to decorating trends and practical crafts features.

She has twice been on the judging panel for the annual Women in Property schools property design competition. Since 2014, she has enjoyed writing about all aspects of interiors and gardening for WhatHouse? newspaper.
