Posted 12 January 2023 by Keith Osborne

Barratt Developments offers a great variety of new homes around Scotland for buyers with a £300,000 budget...

House-hunters across Scotland who are seeking out a perfect brand new home for a budget of £300,000 could be spoilt for choice by the range available at Barratt Developments’ sites right now.

Barratt Developments – a former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year – is building all over the region under its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, including a number of excellent homes priced from under £300,000 – some currently with great special offers. Here are our favourites:

East Scotland

Huntingtower, on the north-western fringe of Perth and close to the A9 and A85. Residents are only three miles from the city centre and a 16-minute cycle ride from Perth’s railway station. The development is now over 80% sold but still has a choice of three-bedroom home types priced from £229,995. Here, two houses start at £269,995: the ‘Abergeldie’ is end-of-terrace with a south-facing garden, for sale through Part Exchange with £3,099 LBTT paid, or for those with no home to sell, £13,499 towards your deposit; and the semi-detached ‘Craigend’ comes with upgrades and can be purchased through Part Exchange or with £3,099 LBTT paid.

Harwood Park , in Limefields, Livingston, has amenities and good schools nearby and is well connected via the M8 and railways services to Glasgow and Edinburgh. Prices for the three- and four-bedroom homes here currently start at £275,995 for the ‘Thurso’. On Plot 99, this house comes with up to £15,000 as a mortgage contribution. Downstairs are the kitchen/dining room, a utility room, cloakroom and lounge, while upstairs are three double bedrooms (one en suite) and a family bathroom.

South West Scotland

DWH @ Torrance Park is off Morris Drive, Holytown, around three miles north of Motherwell. There are shops, amenities and schools nearby and it’s only 20 minutes’ drive to Glasgow. Starting prices for three- and four-bedroom homes here range from £229,995 to £399,995. The ‘Duart’ starts at £279,995 and this semi-detached house with integral garage currently comes with a mortgage contribution offer. There’s a lounge at the front, a kitchen/dining room, utility room and WC at the back, and all three bedrooms are comfortable doubles, with the bonus of en suite to bedroom one. The others can share the family bathroom.

DWH @ Dargavel Village is in Bishopton, Renfrewshire, also just 20 minutes from Glasgow in a secluded spot amongst some lovely countryside but with plenty of useful amenities within easy reach. The current selection of three- and four-bedroom homes ranges from £289,995 to £397,995, with a range of offers. From £289,995, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom ‘Duart Semi’ has an integral single garage and comes with a flooring package and a deposit boost offer of over £14,000.

Lairds Brae is a Barratt Homes development in Kilmarnock offering three- and four-bedroom houses with the A77 and railway station both within a couple of miles of the front door. Starting prices for the current range of homes range from £229,995 to £339,995, with a range of special offers. Among them is the ‘Fenton’, from £294,995, which can be purchased with a £14,749 deposit boost. This detached four-double-bedroom house comes with integral garage, open-plan kitchen/diner with utility room, spacious lounge and en suite to bedroom one.

Just a five-minute drive from Coatbridge town centre, on the edge of Drumpellier Country Park, The Fairways is a development which benefits from easy access to the M8 and M73 and the services of nearby Bargeddie station, with regular trains to Motherwell and Glasgow Central. The three- and four-bedroom homes for sale here start from £229,995. The ‘Cupar’ is well under the £300,000 budget, from £251,995. This end-of-terrace three-bedroom home comes with a west-facing garden and private parking. The lounge at the front leads to the kitchen/dining room, which in turn has a door to the garden. There’s a handy lobby area and downstairs WC. Bedrooms one and two are doubles and bedroom three could make a great nursery or home office.

North East Scotland

Whiteland Coast is situated on the coastline of Newtonhill, between Aberdeen and Stonehaven, with plenty of useful amenities and transport connections within easy reach, including a primary school within walking distance. Some of the homes come with sea views.
