Warwickshire
David Wilson Homes East Midlands has attached large poppies to the lampposts at Callendar Farm in Nuneaton, as well as Ashlawn Gardens and The Moorings in Rugby to mark the annual tribute to all those who lost their lives during the wars.
Barratt Homes North Midlands has also installed the poppies at its St James’ Gate development in Nuneaton.
John Reddington, managing director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, says: “We have decorated our developments with poppies to honour the occasion as a tribute to all those who lost their lives in conflict. During this time of remembrance, we’re encouraging residents of Nottinghamshire to take in the poppies on-site when walking by and take a moment of quiet reflection.”
Northamptonshire
The housebuilders have attached large poppies to the lampposts at Glenvale Park, Barratt at Overstone Gate and DWH at Overstone Gate, to mark the annual tribute to all those who lost their lives during the wars.
Milton Keynes
Brooklands, Brooklands Park, Fairfields, Woburn Downs (Barratt Homes) and Woburn Downs (DWH), all feature poppies on lampposts to mark the annual tribute to all those who lost their lives during the wars.
In 2022, the Royal British Legion is remembering and commemorating military and civilian service.
Residents and visitors to the new communities are encouraged to walk past the poppies and think about all those who served in conflicts across the world ahead of Remembrance Day on Friday 11 November.
Essex
Large poppies have been attached to the lampposts at Great Dunmow Grange in Great Dunmow, High Elms Park in Hullbridge, Mortimer Place in Hatfield Peverel, and Riverside Grange in Fambridge, to mark the annual tribute to all those who lost their lives during the wars.
Tom Wright, managing director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, says: “We have decorated our developments with poppies to honour the occasion as a tribute to all those who lost their lives in conflict.”
Lincolnshire
The housebuilder has attached large poppies to the lampposts at Barratt Homes at Bourne on Len Pick Way and David Wilson Homes’ The Willows on Southwell Way, to mark the annual tribute to all those who lost their lives during the wars.
In 2021, Barratt and David Wilson Homes showed its support for the RBLI by installing Tommy Club figures as part of VE Day. This year, a number of Women in War figures were incorporated to highlight the efforts of women – both in military and civilian occupations – during times of conflict.
