West Midlands new homes round-up - the latest new build homes in the region

Posted 3 March 2017 by Rebecca Burns

The WhatHouse? team takes a look at the latest new build homes in the West Midlands covering Birmingham, Staffordshire and Worcestershire

With the Government pledging to fix Britain's "broken housing market", and unveiling plans to build thousands of new homes in the places where people want to live, the housing shortage in the West Midlands should surely be a key focus.

Figures show that about 60% of new homes are currently being built by just 10 large building companies, but now the government is creating a £3 billion fund to provide loans to help small firms build more than 25,000 new homes by 2020, and up to 225,000 in the long-term.

In the meantime, the housing shortage in the West Midlands continues, although summer 2017 looks set to bring a flurry of brand new developments to the region that will appeal to a wide range of buyers – from downsizers and first time buyers to large families requiring more space.

Our latest round-up includes several that are available now and others that will be launched this summer.

The Ashburtons (Damson Homes)One development arriving early this summer is The Ashburtons, which will provide a choice of luxury three-bedroom town houses and one- and two-bedroom apartments featuring Damson's award-winning specification.

It is home to several schools for all ages, two popular parks, and its own shopping area running along High Street and Alcester Road, which offers a mix of high street chains, pubs and supermarkets. The interiors at this development will include a high specification, such as luxury flooring, designer kitchens, plush bathrooms, and modern open-plan living areas - plus there will be designated parking, guest parking and communal landscaped gardens.
