House prices are rising more quickly in the South East of England than in London, according to official figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) – as analysts claim property market action has shifted outside of prime central London to the outskirts and commuter towns where buyers can get better value.
The typical home in the South East increased in cost by 6.7% in the year to the end of July, according to ONS data, whereas prices in London, which saw significant increases last year, rose by 5.5%.
There is a tiny morsel of good news for first-time buyers, however: the pace at which house price are rising has slowed a little in the South East.
So, what are the options for buyers with a range of different budgets? Here we take a look at new build homes in the South East to suit a range of pockets.
