The South East has bucked a national trend in the early part of 2016: witnessing a leap rather than a drop in construction activity and the number of registrations for new homes.
A report by the National House Building Council (NHBC) for the whole of the UK showed that housebuilding levels fell in the three months to April for all regions other than the South East and North East of England.
The NHBC’s latest registration data revealed a strong growth in the number of homes set to be built in the next few months in the South East – with a 23% increase compared to the same three months last year, equating to 7,805 new homes registered in this period in 2016, compared to 6,326 over the same period in 2015.
