South East new homes round-up - the best new build property now for sale

Posted 23 September 2016 by Ben Salisbury

The WhatHouse? team takes a look at the best new build homes in Essex, West Sussex, Oxfordshire, Berkshire Hampshire and Kent...

With average house rental prices hitting an all-time high in July this year, many tenants are keen to make a move into homeownership. The biggest regional rise was in south-east England, where rents were up 15%, reaching an average of £924 per month - a trend which The Guardian says is driven by people moving out of London to escape the capital's hefty rents.

Aspiring homeowners in the South East – or those looking to upsize or downsize – do have some exciting new developments to choose from across the region.

Our latest round-up of brand new homes includes apartments, starter homes and larger family houses in Hampshire, Kent, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Essex and West Sussex.

Centenary Quay in Woolston, Southampton, Hampshire (Crest Nicholson)

The regeneration project includes the creation of gardens, courtyards and public squares alongside the river, with links to Woolston High Street and its good variety of shops.

The latest phase is made up of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom houses. As the city's reputation as an important UK rental hotspot grows, Crest Nicholson says the properties have already been drawing a significant amount of interest from local investors.
