'Early-bird' homebuyers are grabbing their favourite plots at Persimmon's new homes scheme Archery Fields by buying off-plan...

The West Midlands division of national housebuilder Persimmon Homes is reporting high demand for homes at its Archery Fields scheme in Shrewsbury, with a number of off-plan sales from keen homebuyers.

Archery Fields will comprise 230 new homes, located off Shillington Drive near the site of the Battle of Shrewsbury, which inspired its name. A range of two- to five-bedroom homes will make up the development, with the first phase of three-bedroom houses starting from £180,000 and the first completions due next month.

Stephen Cleveley, director of sales and marketing for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, says: “We currently have a marketing suite on-site with plans for the show home to open in February. The site is proving very popular already with several homes selling off-plan in a matter of weeks. Buying off-plan means people can have their pick of the best plots as well as a greater control over their fixtures and fittings, especially in the kitchens and bathrooms.

“We have always been confident that the development would sell quickly due to its great location as it provides excellent access out of Shrewsbury via the A49, A5, M54 to Telford, Wolverhampton and the West Midlands or north of Shrewsbury to Whitchurch on the A49. The development is also within walking distance of the town's park-and-ride facility with regular bus journeys into the centre.

“Archery Fields will meet all the demands of modern living with house types to suit all needs, with the government-backed Help to Buy also available. In turn, this development is also creating jobs and helping the local economy.”
