Kennington’s Duchy of Cornwall village transformed with new homes

Posted 3 October 2013

Residential property developer Tailored Living Solutions has launched Courtenay Mews, located off Courtenay Street in Kennington's historic Duchy of Cornwall village.

The scheme features three newly built three-bedroom houses located in a private courtyard and is completed by two separate two-bedroom loft-style apartments and a three-storey mews house created from a converted Edwardian Sea Cadets Hall and parade ground which has links to the HRH Duke of Edinburgh.

Steeped in history dating back to 1856 and the Crimean War, the Sea Cadets is a 14,000-strong organisation which provides young people with the skills and history of the Royal Navy.

Tailored Living Solutions is now adding a new chapter to the history of the Sea Cadets site, with the historic Sea Cadets Hall currently being restored and converted to provide three homes consisting of two single-level apartments and one three-bedroom, three-storey mews house with private landscaped garden.

Josh Chadd, managing partner at Tailored Living Solutions, remarks: "Courtenay Mews combines historic architecture, new-build design and a high-quality specification to provide a stylish collection of new homes in the historic village built by the Duchy of Cornwall in the heart of Kennington. The development is ideal for someone wanting a home providing easy access to the West End, City of London, South Bank, London Bridge Quarter or Canary Wharf."
