Lyme Regis area
Bloor Homes will soon have a selection of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes available at Woodberry Copse, nestled in the unspoilt countryside around the popular town of Lyme Regis, and within the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. As well as its family-friendly beach, Lyme Regis has lots of other things to offer house buyers. Sometimes referred to as ‘The Pearl of Dorset', it is home to a 13th-century harbour, historic naval architecture, lots of independent shops and art galleries, and lovely public gardens. Prices are yet to be released, but a full brochure can be downloaded online.
On the rugged 'isle' of Portland near Weymouth, ZeroC's Officers Field is a new residential development made up of 58 individual, contemporary and sustainable two-, three- and four-bedroom homes priced from £265,000 to £375,000. The site is split into two parts, the upper and the lower, each offering distinct features. Most of the homes enjoy fantastic coastal views, with many of the properties situated around a green. Portland, which is scenic and offers peaceful isolation in comparison with nearby Weymouth, is conveniently joined to the mainland by Chesil Beach and a public road bridge. The development itself benefits from being within easy walking distance of the shops at Fortuneswell and from the Osprey Quay Leisure Centre with its swimming pool, gym and squash courts, while just across the road is the Victoria Gardens and skate park.
CG Fry & Son has a development of 60 properties at Chesil Gate on the Chickerell side of Weymouth, built using traditional materials and incorporating character details such as door surrounds, eaves, stonework and metalwork, combined with modern energy-efficiency, comfort and security features. A three-bedroom semi-detached property with single garage is priced at £295,000, while a four-bedroom semi-detached home with single garage is £365,000.
