Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sewer-effect bedroom unveiled at Weston Homes development
Housebuilder Weston Homes and Blocc Interiors have teamed up to create a children’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed bedroom.
The innovative sewer-effect bedroom is a world away from a conventional sleeping area, with a comic-book style drain manhole cover on the ceiling and metallic wall mounted treats down one wall forming a ladder to the bedroom below.
The walls have been painted to replicate concrete blocks seeping with sewage, and the carpet is designed to look like a sea of mud. There are also steel mini-drawers on either side of the bed, which are dressed with bright turtle green side lamps.
Homebuyers who purchase a family home across the Weston Homes portfolio before the end of May 2015 will be entitled to have a similar themed bedroom installed in their new home free of charge.
Weston Homes has also created a special Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle bedroom in the show home of their St Catherine’s Grange development of 23 two-, three- and four-bedroom family homes in the pretty village of Clavering in Essex. Prices here begin at £374,995
Bob Weston, chairman & managing director of Weston Homes, said: “The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a global phenomenon loved by children of all ages. The houses at St Catherine’s Grange are perfect for families and over 50% of the visitors to the development have been families who are enchanted with the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtle themed room. It has definitely helped play a role in our success at promoting the houses to families with children.”
Created in 1984, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first appeared in a series of hugely successful comic books, before moving to TV screens in the form of a cartoon series and five feature films, with the most recent adaptation grossing £330m worldwide in 2014.
