Freddie, steady, go - a guest editor for WhatHouse? on National Dog Day

Posted 26 August 2016 by Helen Christie

Bonjour! Today is National Dog Day, although personally I think every day should be National Dog Day...

I’m Freddie, a French bulldog, and I love long walks (so long as it isn’t raining), eating anything that I can find and chewing anything that comes my way.

As is true for any pet, my home is a hugely important part of my life, as I spend so much time there. I love having space to run around in, areas to explore and I like having space that is just for me.

I’ve moved house a couple of times in my life, and it can be quite a stressful time for dogs, but there are plenty of ways to keep us pooches happy and safe during moves. I know lots of my canine friends such as Ramsey, Tinker and Bert have moved to some amazing new build developments thanks to government schemes such as Help to Buy.

Whatever you’re looking for, whether it be a retirement development, a new build home or you’re hoping to downsize, there is a lot to give you paws for thought when shopping for a new home – especially if you’ve got man’s best friend running around you – I promise we’re only trying to be helpful!
