CALA Homes impressive new development, High Trees at Tetbury showcases contemporary country chic and offers a fabulous all-round family home...

Luxury housebuilder CALA Homes has recently launched its brand new showhome at its High Trees development in Tetbury, Gloucestershire. Set in leafy surroundings, the new development on Cirencester Road is a collection of 19 stunning two, three, four and five bedroom homes on the edge of the thriving Cotswold town.

Each of the characterful homes at the development feature generous landscaping and bright interiors, with CALA's high specification throughout. The exteriors feature warm golden stone and beautiful rustic slate roofs, all adding to the character of these exquisite new homes.

The new show home, The Sycamore, is an exquisite five-bedroom family home with a spacious kitchen and family/breakfast room with French doors opening on to the rear garden. There is also a large sitting room looking out on to the garden patio and a formal dining room, perfect for entertaining guests.

Upstairs, there is the master bedroom, which features an en suite and walk-in wardrobe, plus a second bedroom also with an en suite. There are two further bedrooms, ideal for a growing family, and a fifth bedroom that could easily be converted into a study if desired.

The new show home has been styled by Andy Richardson of Edward Thomas Interiors and demonstrates the latest interior design trends.

Andy said: “A show home is very important as it allows people to imagine themselves living there.  At High Trees, the rural setting has been reflected in an elegant design with a homely feel which appeals to local families, professionals and downsizers. The colour palette is focussed on a blend of soft greys and blues, with traditional oak country style painted furniture combined with metal finishes and industrial style accessories, to create a  contemporary twist on a quintessentially country classic style.

“Throughout the show home we have offset modern metals with soft textures and vintage patterns, and the high ceiling heights allowed us to incorporate impressive light fittings to really give that added wow factor.

“In the sitting room, we’ve used a large sofa and identical display cabinets either side of the fireplace as statement pieces of furniture.  Metal detailing and accessories combined with oak wash furniture against a pale grey and blue backdrop creates a formal, sophisticated space. Cushions featuring the royal crest and commemorative china in the display cabinets also give a nod to the development’s royal neighbours at nearby Highgrove.”

“Whilst the sitting room offers a grown up retreat, the impressive open plan kitchen/ family room is very much the heart of the home.  The sharp, contemporary feel of the industrial light fittings and shaker style painted kitchen units combine with an oak dining table with rattan chairs and bench seating to create a new take on the vintage country kitchen look.  The large blue and white sofa and purpose built storage unit provides the perfect space for relaxing and watching TV with the kids."

“Upstairs, the master bedroom with en suite has an ornate country style oak wash and upholstered bedstead.  Mirror finish, art deco style furniture and chandelier light shade brings a touch of glamour whilst the bold yellow floral print wallpaper is the ideal contrast to the pale grey and blue colour scheme.  Perfect for overnight guests, bedroom two has a tall upholstered navy headboard and crisp white bed linen, reminiscent of a high-end boutique hotel.  In the third bedroom, we’ve used a sporting theme with a twist.  The metal frame bed and industrial style furniture combine with old fashioned sporting accessories to create a vintage, preppy look.”

“The upstairs accommodation is completed with two children’s bedrooms. The first has an Alice in Wonderland theme with a Mad Hatters Tea Party mural creating a focal point in the room.  The purpose built signpost and light fitting with vintage teacups provide the finishing touches to this dream girl’s bedroom.  The final bedroom has a classic English schoolboy feel with royal guardsman and a horse and carriage mural on the wall, union jack cushions and large gold W & H letters above the twin beds, perfect for any aspiring little princes.”
