The main towns for new build homes in the county are Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester and Tewkesbury. Due it its proximity to Bristol and Cardiff, new homes build close to the M5 offer easy city commuting. The stunning countryside of the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley are popular countryside locations for families and retirees and a number of sensitively designed new developments are on offer.
There are nine train stations in Gloucestershire including Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, and Kemble offering regular trains to local and national destinations including London, Birmingham and the north of England. Motorway access is excellent being at the centre of the M4/M5/M40 triangle.
The University of Gloucestershire and the Royal Agricultural University are situated in the county with a thriving student population many of whom remain in the country to work.
