New homes for sale in Godalming

Located in the south-west of the county, Godalming is just four miles from Guildford and a couple of miles from the North Downs AONB, with great transport connectivity thanks to the A3 and regular railway services on the London to Portsmouth Harbour line. High Street and Church Street between them offer a good range of independent shops and eateries. There are some excellent schools in the area, the best-known being 400-year-old Charterhouse. With the scenic River Wey running through It and surrounded by the Surrey Hills, it’s a great options for lovers of the outdoors.

On the western side of town, Ockford Park could be a development for the perfect first step on the property ladder, offering apartments through Shared Ownership, the government-backed scheme that enables qualifying house-hunters ‘part buy-part rent’ a home. The brand new properties here are available from Southern Housing from £93,750 for a 25% share (full market value £375,000), requiring a much smaller deposit and mortgage than on the open market. The specification of these two-bedroom apartments includes fitted kitchen with integrated appliances, en suite to bedroom one, and high-quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Find out more about Ockford Park.

Cala Homes is offering full-price homes at Ockford Park, with three-, four- and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes ranging from £335,250 to £1.15million. There are several offers and financial incentives on some plots, including schemes such as Deposit Unlock and Part Exchange. There are show homes to view, with another four-bedroom show house opening soon. Find out more from Cala Homes.

Catteshall Court is on the eastern outskirts and this Crest Nicholson development is now 75% sold. When completed, there will be an impressive range of apartments and houses here, with one to five bedrooms, meaning there’s something for almost all property-seekers. Right now, apartments start at £279,950 and three-bedroom houses are priced from £599,950. There are deals for deposit contribution on selected plots, and an option of Part Exchange. Find out more about Catteshall Court.

Home Reach is another part buy-part rent scheme, this one a partnership between housing provider heylo and housebuilder SN Developments at Heron House, which comprises 45 apartments, each with allocated parking. New homes for sale in Epsom

Many people will associate Epsom with its famous racecourse, located on its southern outskirts, but there is a lot more to it than that. Located near the border with Greater London, it is surrounded by Green Belt land, so development is quite limited here. There’s plenty in the town centre, an excellent range of shops and amenities alongside cafés, restaurants and pubs. It’s also home to one of the campuses of the well-regarded University for the Creative Arts, as well as state and independent schools. With three stations, the town offers regular services to Waterloo, Victoria and London Bridge, and the M25 is only three miles away.

Just moments from the shops and station at Tattenham Corner, Churchill Retirement Living’s Stanley Lodge is a collection of 34 age-exclusive one- and two-bedroom private apartments complemented by communal lounge/coffee bar, gardens and guest suite. Specially designed to suit older buyers, these secure and energy-efficient homes have fully fitted kitchen and high-quality fixtures and fittings throughout, plus a 24-hour call centre support system. Prices currently start at £399,950 and the development is open to view from Tuesday to Saturday. Find out more at Stanley Lodge.

New homes for sale in Farnham

Located on the western edge of the county and the North Downs, Farnham has been described as an early example of a commuter town, with the railway opening in 1848 and putting the commercially successful town within easy reach of London (journey time these days, 50-60 minutes), with wealthy city workers purchasing weekend homes here. Senior ranks from the nearby Aldershot army base, also starting in the mid-19th century, also chose to live in well-to-do parts of town. Today, it has a good mix of independent shops and national retailers, including several supermarkets, and there’s a monthly farmers’ market. It’s an exceptionally good place to live for parents as there are many schools that are ranked ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Like Epsom, the town is the site of one of the campuses of the University for the Creative Arts.

Situated in the town centre, Brightwells Yard is a Crest Nicholson development of apartments. The current range of one- and two-bedroom properties for sale start at £249,950 and for buyers who qualify, there are potential significant savings through Deposit Booster and Smoothmove schemes. There’s also Part Exchange and the Deposit Unlock scheme, the latter requiring a deposit of only 5%. All designs incorporated open-plan living and private balcony or terrace. Find out more about Brightwells Yard.

SO Resi Farnham is another collection of town centre one- and two-bedroom apartments, these ones available via Shared Ownership and each coming with an allocated parking space. For a limited time right now on selected plots, there’s an offer of 12 months service charge paid on your behalf – a great saving just after you’ve moved in. Prices start at £69,375 for a 25% share of a one-bedroom apartment (based on full market value of £277,500). Find out more at soresi.co.uk.

Runnymede Homes has an exclusive development of just 14 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes at Eleanor Place, situated off Firgrove Hill, under a mile from the town centre. Each home includes either a garage or private allocated parking. It’s been a successful site, with 10 of the homes now sold or reserved, but the remaining four will suit budgets from £625,000 to £1.295million. Find out more at runnymedehomes.co.uk.

New homes for sale in Guildford

With its host of amenities and travel connections, Guildford’s population of nearly 80,000 have much on their doorstep but are also within each reach of many other places. The countryside of the Surrey Hills AONB surrounds the town on three sides and several major roads and public transport services mean it’s ideal for London commuters and for journeys to the likes of Portsmouth, Reading and two major airports. Guildford’s attractive cobbled shopping streets make it one of the region’s most-admired market towns, complemented by great sports and leisure facilities, cultural venues and excellent places to enjoy a day or night out. Education is also a part of Guildford’s appeal, with numerous highly regarded state and independent schools, colleges and a university.

There is just one home still for sale from Taylor Wimpey at Tangley Crescent, just north-west of the town in Worplesdon. ‘The Kitham’ is a four-bedroom detached house with integral single garage, southeast-facing garden, open-plan kitchen/dining room, separate reception room, and all bedrooms are comfortable doubles, with en suite to bedroom one. Priced at £800,000, there’s an option of Part Exchange and currently a flexible special deal worth up to £27,500. There’s a Hard Hat event here on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August 2023. Find out more about current Taylor Wimpey developments.

Close to the town centre, Golden House is a collection of 54 apartments in an office-to-residential conversion which could equally appeal to owner-occupiers or investors. The one- and two-bedroom properties range from £265,000 to £390,000. Find out more at www.magnateassets.com.

Coming soon to the west of the town, just a seven-minute drive from its centre, is a collection of apartments and houses called Gardeners Walk, from Abri Homes. Suitable for a range of budgets, this development will be officially launched later this year. Find out more about Gardeners Walk.
