Keith OsborneBellway London, a Housebuilder Partner at the upcoming London New Home Show on 27-28 January 2024, is building homes at key locations across London and the South East. Two particularly popular areas are Bexleyheath and Enfield, which both offer attractive lifestyles, just a stone's throw from the capital, with quick connections into the city for work and leisure.
Bexleyheath
Located in south-east London, Bexleyheath has become a magnet for first-time buyers drawn in by its bustling community vibe, shops, cafés and bars. With desirable links to the capital, Bexleyheath is just a 29-minute train directly to London Bridge.
The former Kent coaching town, which became part of the London Borough of Bexley in 1965, offers exceptional value for money. There are not many London postcodes where you can buy a brand new apartment for £274,000.
Broadway Shopping Centre is a one-minute walk away where and there are plenty of lunch, brunch and dinner spots, as well as bars and cafés. There are leisure facilities for the active and those looking for a more relaxing night out. There’s everything from a Cineworld to five-a-side football pitches or a bowling alley.
In recent years the town centre has been rejuvenated through investment in homes and infrastructure. Bellway London has transformed the area around the old civic centre, where it is building 518 homes at Eastside Quarter. The development has brought 110 affordable homes to the town and created Bexleyheath’s tallest building.
Road and rail links provide easy routes into London and across Kent, giving residents access to the city or countryside in minutes. Those in search of greenery can frequent Danson Park, in the grounds of the historic Danson House, or take a short cycle ride to Hall Place and Gardens, a Tudor house with stunning gardens, a butterfly house and plant centre.
New homes for sale in Bexleyheath
Bellway London has released the final phase of homes at Eastside Quarter, which is centrally located in the town, and has prices from £274,000, it’s easy to see why more than 90% of the private homes built so far have been purchased by first-time buyers. Residents have use of a gym, concierge service and roof garden with stunning views across Kent and London.
One-bedroom apartments currently start at £274,000 and you can buy a two-bedroom apartment from £338,000, with homes ready to move into. Find out more.

Enfield
Enfield, meanwhile, is fast becoming a hotspot for homebuyers wanting the best of both worlds – a home on the edge of the countryside which is a short trip into central London.
Commuters and young families are among those being attracted to this historic market town, which is the most northerly of the 32 London boroughs and one of the greenest – home to more than 900 hectares of parks and open spaces.
This combination of rural living on the edge of the city is exemplified by Bellway London’s Old Royal Chace development on the site of the former Royal Chace Hotel in Enfield, surrounded by the historic royal hunting ground of Enfield Chase and with views across to London.
Enfield was granted a royal charter by King Edward I in 1303 and the place comes to life when the market comes to town on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a fabulous 80-seater food court selling international street food.
There’s a great range of independent shops in the town, as well as bars and restaurants serving up food and drink through the day and into the evening. For entertainment, Enfield has Cineworld and Odeon cinemas, the Dugdale Arts Centre and Jump In trampoline park among a host of options.
The New River meanders through the town, while nearby Trent Country Park has 413 acres of rolling meadows, babbling brooks and ancient woodland.
Enfield is also well connected, with three railway stations providing services into London Liverpool Street and Moorgate, while the M25 is less than four miles away.
Homes in and around Enfield
Bellway London is building a collection of 64 one- and two-bedroom apartments and two- and three-bedroom houses at Old Royal Chace, on the site of the former Royal Chace Hotel, off The Ridgeway, on the northern-western edge of Enfield. The development is just a mile from Gordon Hill railway station for direct trains to Moorgate in central London in as little as 36 minutes.
There is currently a choice of one and two-bedroom apartments available to reserve, with prices starting at £410,000 and £470,000 respectively. A selection of two- and three-bedroom houses is also for sale, priced from £550,000 and £650,000. Find out more.
Just four miles away, Bellway is also building 121 premium homes at King George’s Vale, in the desirable Hertfordshire village of Cuffley, while six miles from Enfield the housebuilder is delivering 66 properties at Cedarbrook Rise in Goff’s Oak.
