New Show Home Launches In Erith

Posted 13 April 2023 by Keith Osborne

L&Q is inviting house-hunters in south-east London to take a first-hand look at the new show apartment at The Quarry...

Offering potential purchasers a glimpse into life at The Quarry, a WhatHouse? Award-winning development in Erith, south-east London, a brand new show home has just been launched.

The new two-bedroom apartment is now available to view at the landmark development delivered by L&Q and Anderson, comprising more than 800 homes on the site of a disused quarry. Ideal for young professionals, couples and small families, this is a spacious, contemporary property spanning 733 sq ft which features two expansive double bedrooms complete with built-in wardrobes, and an en suite to the principal bedroom. The second bedroom is fitted with a complete work-from-home set up, which can double up as a dressing table.

The open-plan living space features a dining table for four and a plush sofa and matching armchair, ready for a dinner party or movie night with friends. The kitchen is equipped with plenty of worktop space, grey cabinets and is complete with integrated appliances. The hallway boasts two expansive storage cupboards, one of which accommodates/includes a (freestanding) washer/dryer, and the main bathroom features a large bath and built-in mirror.

Meeting the demand for energy-efficient homes, apartments at The Quarry maximise the opportunity to reduce carbon emissions through the integration of sustainable design and low- or zero-carbon technologies. This includes air source heat pumps and PV panels feeding into communal areas; two state-of-the-art sustainable products that utilise the heat in the air and sunlight to generate energy for homes.

Claire Brenlund, L&Q sales and marketing director commented: “The Quarry is already becoming a busy, exciting community, which is clear to see as soon as you visit the development. The current show home has been so popular with buyers looking to move to Erith, so we’re delighted to have also launched a two-bedroom apartment for customers to view.”

“There’s so much still to come at The Quarry, including the primary school opening later this year and the ecology area, which will create a fantastic space for the whole community to enjoy. It’s no wonder we’re continuing to see such high levels of interest in the homes here!”

The QuarryAll homes at The Quarry will offer generous living and outdoor spaces, and benefit from large floor-to-ceiling windows that maximise views and natural light. Additional features include fitted contemporary appliances and underfloor heating. All homes have access to private outdoor space in the form of gardens, balconies and terraces.

Encouraging residents to travel through the site instead of around it, the development has been designed with pedestrian- and cyclist-friendly streetscapes with walkways across the site, and no through access for cars. Residents at The Quarry will have access to a generous number of parking spaces available, including plenty of visitor bays, whilst homes are also equipped with a 7kw electric car charging point or the infrastructure to install one with ease.

Situated within the M25 and along the River Thames, yet outside the hustle and bustle of inner-city London, The Quarry is close to nature, but commutable to the city. Erith town centre is set to be transformed in the coming years with a £10million investment, with local initiative #BrilliantBexley funding significant changes.

Perfectly positioned for city workers, Erith is well connected by bus and rail. With regular services currently running into London, nearby stations Woolwich and Abbey Wood have become even better connected with the recent opening of the Elizabeth line – trains to Canary Wharf take just 11 minutes, and 17 minutes to Liverpool Street. Both stations are a cycle or quick bus ride from homes at The Quarry. Homes are also just a short walk to Erith station, with journeys to London Bridge taking just 30 minutes, and 45 minutes to Charing Cross.

Ideal for families with young children, an important landmark on the development is the state-of-the-art Lime Wood Free School, which is located at the main entrance to The Quarry and set to open in September 2023. Classrooms will face out over the development and beyond, promoting health and wellbeing. Run by The Woodland Academy Trust, it is anticipated to open to its first intake of reception-age children later this year.

Prices start from £276,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. Shared Ownership homes are also available. Find out more about The Quarry from L&Q.
