News AdminSt George has unveiled ‘The Bayou’ Showhome, a spacious one-bedroom residence at Bower House, the first collection of homes at Silkstream, an eco-conscious parkland neighbourhood in Hendon, North West London.
A proud member of the Berkeley Group, St George has collaborated with local design studio Thirteen ID to curate an interior that embraces the surrounding local environment and scenery.
Welcoming first residents later this year, Silkstream’s new Showhome will open on Saturday 26th October, with new homes at Bower House and Lindley House available to purchase off-plan.
A commitment to ethical living | A ‘bayou’ is a serene and slow-moving waterway that meanders through lush landscapes. Created by design studio Thirteen ID, interiors for this one-bedroom Showhome celebrate the philosophy of bringing the natural world in, taking inspiration from the local surroundings, which are enriched with luscious flora and fauna.
An elegant nod to this serene and tranquil vision has been embraced with biophilic design and is evident in lush and organic elements, which have been seamlessly integrated throughout. A tactile richness of sustainably sourced materials – utilising reputable, ISO certified suppliers and manufacturers – add to the artful incorporation of greenery and preserved florals add character and depth to the home.
A testament to the growing importance of sustainability in modern design, ‘The Bayou’ Showhome at Silkstream has been curated to the highest specification and finish. Joinery has been made from FSC certified timbers and veneers, meanwhile local craftspeople and London-based artists have been sourced to ensure furniture pieces are timeless and built to endure.
Welcoming residents later this year, Bower House is Silkstream’s first 11-storey residential building comprising 76 one- and two-bedroom homes. Anchored by excellent eco credentials, these new homes have been designed to use less energy than a standard home, resulting in fewer carbon emissions and lower fuel bills.
The spacious open-plan homes at Bower House enjoy their own private balcony or terrace, and all residents enjoy access to an impressive roof terrace offering enviable views towards Wembley Stadium and of the new Mosaic Garden, one of three individual and unique podium gardens available to residents.
Marcus Blake, Managing Director at St George, said: “Today’s buyers are increasingly focused on sustainability and the local environment in their home buying search, and Silkstream is ideally positioned to respond to this shift in priorities. Silkstream has low-carbon homes that don’t compromise on style, are surrounded by green spaces and benefit from excellent transport connections. Buyers can be in taken from wildflower gardens to Central London in under 20-minutes. Silkstream’s Bower House is the first chapter of this parkland neighbourhood and welcoming residents this autumn is an exciting step for this eco-conscious community.”
Lois Street, Creative Director at Thirteen ID, said: “Natural tones and textures are at the core of our design for The Bayou. We’ve used a palette of marble, oak, linen, and velvet to evoke a sense of timeless luxury, while also ensuring that each space feels intimate and connected to nature. Original artwork by local artist Jessica Rose Bird adds a unique layer of storytelling, weaving together the various elements to create a cohesive and tranquil environment that is both elegant and inviting.
“Our impact on the world in which we live has never been more important. We are committed to minimising this impact wherever possible. Therefore, all furnishings have been sourced ethically, sustainably, and wherever possible from the UK. We see this as part of a larger dedication to improving the industry and protecting the environment.”
