The borough benefits from the Northern line, with stations including Edgware, High Barnet, Mill Hill East, Finchley Central, Hendon Central, Brent Cross and Colindale. There are also two National Rail routes, the Thameslink connecting residents from Mill Hill Broadway, Hendon and Cricklewood to central London and further afield to places such as St Albans and Luton Airport Parkway.
Barnet is home to a wide range of schools and colleges. Middlesex University’s main campus is located in Hendon, and University College London has its teaching observatory in Mill Hill. There are a huge number of parks, green spaces and nature reserves within the borough, and part of Hampstead Heath stretches into Barnet.
