First Show Home Opens At Bristol Scheme

Posted 14 January 2021 by Keith Osborne

Bristol house-hunters have a brand new, professionally designed four-bedroom show house to see at Brooks Dye Works...

A show home has been unveiled at Brooks Dye Works, a development from Galliard Homes and Acorn Property Group in the vibrant area of St Werburghs in Bristol.

Breathing new life into the Victorian dyeworks site, the developers have seen great success to date, with, 65% of Phase 1 successfully sold – with over 90% of the sales being to local buyers from St Werburghs and across Bristol.

Brooks Dye Works will provide 79 two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, each with private outdoor space and set amongst landscaped gardens. Galliard and Acorn offer a £10,000 discount or deposit contribution to any key workers, with six out of every 10 buyers using the discount, the majority being NHS staff and teachers.

The iconic chimney has been preserved on the site, with the new homes centred around it and the architecture drawing inspiration from the site’s industrial heritage.

Brooks Dye WorksThe new show home is a design collaboration between Fifteen Twelve and Andrew Henry Interiors, two local Bristol companies that specialise in bringing authentic, stylish homes to life. The four-bedroom, three-storey townhouse has a chic design throughout, with locally sourced furniture, artwork from Bristol artists, and curated accessories.

There is a warm colour palette of earth tones, with a mixture of natural woods, linens and cottons. With eclectic furniture pieces and styling accessories sourced from local artisan suppliers, the show home embodies the spirit of St Werburghs; in the open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, the dining table chairs are reclaimed school chairs, with alternative prints throughout.

The first-floor lounge is a flexible space, designed as both a relaxed lounge for adults as well as a home office if required. In the children’s bedroom, there is a beautiful hand-painted mural depicting the iconic Brooks chimney.

Brooks Dye WorksLaura Reynolds of Fifteen Twelve said: “As a local resident of St Werburghs myself, I wanted to create a design that embraces the local culture and feels authentic in its surroundings. The show home at Brooks Dye Works has wonderful details throughout, from the hand painted mural of the iconic chimney to the curated vintage accessories. Working alongside Andrew Henry Interiors we created a show home which is warm and inviting. We look forward to potential buyers walking through the door and imagining themselves at home.”

At Brooks Dye Works each home will have open-plan living with a flexible design and a high-quality specification, as well allocated parking or a private garage, with further visitor parking available.

For buyers who reserve their property early, there is the opportunity to tailor aspects of their new home, including the kitchen units, choice of floor covering and tile colour. Designer built-in kitchens will be by Magnet and come with integrated appliances from leading luxury appliance manufacturer Smeg. The new homes use renewable timber frame construction, and sustainable features include smart meters, a sustainable drainage system, double-glazed argon gas filled windows to maximise each home’s insulation and secure cycle storage. The majority of homes in the first phase also feature PV panels and electric charging points.

Robin Squire, regional managing director at Acorn Property Group’s Bristol Office, commented: “St Werbughs is a fantastic location in Bristol with a vibrant culture. The reimagination of the former dyeworks into a new community is a project we are immensely proud of, with the new homes already taking shape. There is strong demand from local buyers for these homes, who want to join the exciting new community.”

Brooks Dye WorksGeorge Baffoe-Djan, head of Galliard Western Division, commented: “We are delighted with the buyer demand for Brooks Dye Works, with many local to Bristol finding their dream home here. There is a need for high-quality four-bedroom houses in this area, with Brooks Dye Works providing a contemporary, stylish solution. The show home is the first opportunity for buyers to imagine themselves living here, with wonderful curated accessories and thoughtfully sourced furniture.”

St. Werburghs offers independent restaurants, organic eateries, boutique shops and a lively urban art scene within walking distance of the development.

At Brooks Dye Works, current prices for a three-bedroom home start from £390,000, and four-bedroom houses from £477,250.

The show home and marketing suite are available to visit by appointment and a virtual tour is available online. The sales team can be asked about the key worker discount terms and conditions.
