Acorn Property Group is now offering Help to Buy on selected properties at its popular development, The Old Printworks...

Developer Acorn Property Group has secured Help to Buy funding for The Old Printworks in Frome with the first homes that qualify now released for sale, helping first-time buyers get on the property ladder and own their first home.

Since its initial launch last autumn, The Old Printworks has attracted buyers from across Somerset and London, with purchasers drawn to the contemporary architecture, thoughtful design, and green spaces. The homes that qualify for Help to Buy include a newly released two-bedroom apartment, which will be ready to move into this winter, and selected three-bedroom houses which are perfect for a young family or professional couple.

The Old Printworks is located on the site of the former Butler, Tanner and Dennis printing press, which printed the first Penguin books in 1935. Developed by Acorn Property Group in conjunction with London & County, the £45million (GDV) development is set to bring 157 modern homes to the popular town of Frome, with the first residents now moved in and enjoying the lifestyle on offer.

The high-quality specification and design of the homes includes a contemporary kitchen by Stormer, fully integrated appliances, Caesarstone worktops and sleek bathrooms with porcelain floor and wall tiling. For buyers who reserve their property early, there is the opportunity to tailor aspects of their new home, including the kitchen units and tile colour (subject to construction stage). For working from home, there is an Openreach fibre-optic broadband connection available.

The Old PrintworksRobin Squire, regional managing director of Acorn’s Bristol office, said: “We are delighted that select homes at The Old Printworks are now available to buy with the government-backed Help to Buy equity loan, which will help more buyers secure their dream home in Frome.

Simon Blair, managing director of London & County says: “Despite challenging times, we are thrilled that our first buyers at The Old Printworks are now moved in and enjoying their new homes. The Help to Buy loan will help buyers, wanting to own their first home to purchase with confidence.”

Two-bedroom apartments at The Old Printworks start at £235,000, three-bedroom semi-detached houses from £350,000 and four-bedroom townhouses from £400,000.
