On the outskirts of historic Colchester, our latest development St Michael`s Place offers a range of new two, three and four-bedroom homes, close to great attractions and family-friendly amenities.

Holding the title of England`s oldest recorded town, Colchester offers a fantastic mix of ancient history and modern amenities. One of the largest towns in Essex, it was formerly the Roman capital of Britain and is now a bustling hub, popular with commuters thanks to its position 50 miles northeast of London. The attractive centre is well-stocked with high street and independent stores, bars, restaurants, cafes and music venues.

With a great range of attractions just a short drive from the development, and excellent schools and transport links nearby, could this be your perfect place to call home?

Shopping

Colchester town centre is home to all the shops you could need for a full day of retail therapy. You'll find a vast array of popular high street brands including those at Lion Walk Shopping Centre and Culver Square Shopping Centre, plus an impressive range of independent boutiques. Fenwick department store offers designer brands, and in between shops you can find refreshment at one of the many bars and eateries around town. Closer to the development, there are several local supermarkets including Lidl less than a mile away.

Transport

In terms of road and rail transport, St Michael's Place is conveniently positioned for both. Colchester train station (3.4 miles from the development) operates regular journeys of around an hour to London Liverpool Street, while the A12 ' the main arterial road through Essex ' is just a few minutes away by car, giving easy access to the M25 and M11. For travel further afield, it's a 45-minute journey to Stansted Airport.

Leisure

When you're not enjoying the shops, cuisine and vibrant nightlife, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore local attractions. Colchester Zoo ' one of the finest zoos in Europe ' is set in 60 acres of parkland and home to over 270 species. You could also take a tour of Colchester Castle and enjoy leisure activities in the castle grounds including crazy golf and a boating lake; enjoy a peaceful stroll at Highwoods or Westlands country parks, go for a round of golf at Birch Grove Golf Club just a 2-minute drive away, or take part in a huge range of sports at Leisure World.

Education

The closest primary schools are St Michael's Primary School and Nursery (just a 3-minute walk from the development) and Montgomery nursery, Infant and Junior Schools, a 12-minute walk away. Secondary schools include Paxman Academy, The Stanway School and Colchester Royal Grammar School, while the University of Essex offers a wide range of degree courses. The development will also be providing a play area on-site and financial contributions to community purposes, parks and recreation, open space, healthcare, education, and pedestrian/cycle access to the nearby primary school.

 Health and Wellbeing
3.7
Since the outbreak of Covid in 2020, the health and quality of life for ourselves and our families has become more of a priority than ever, and one of the fundamental considerations in choosing where we live. There are a host of ingredients in measuring this, and we calculate our Health & Wellbeing rating using many factors.
 Transport Links
4.3
Being within easy reach of people and places for work or leisure is a top consideration when choosing your brand new home. Can you commute easily by private or public transport, and are there routes to close by for the places you’ll want to go to? Would it be safe to leave the car at home and cycle somewhere instead? Are there convenient EV charging points in the local area?
 Finance
3.0
Finances are the fundamental thing on which our choice of new home is based, but aside from what you can afford to borrow and the price cap you must consider, there’s the ongoing running costs to consider too, and what may happen to the value of your home before you sell it in the future.
 Education and Amenities
4.0
Education and Amenities covers things which are vital to everyday life, whether it’s somewhere to buy groceries and other essentials, a place to enjoy leisure time and for families, an area with schooling which is easy to get to from home
