Working with data experts CLSQ on the latest information from highly respected sources across a whole range of subjects, we assess each development to give a comprehensive score, marked out of 5, on things that are key to your decision. Our calculated ratings are given for five core topics and you can read about them in more detail here:
When you look up a particular development, you’ll see the scores for these themes and a host of individual subjects used to make the total. For example, Transport Links assesses things like public transport services, the proximity of major roads, and nearby cycle routes.

1. Merchants Gate, Springkell Avenue, Pollokshields, rated 4.0/5
This McCarthy Stone collection of one- and two-bedroom apartments exclusively for over-60s scores top 5/5 marks for things including shops, railway links, broadband connection, air pollution levels and local medical services. It’s been a very successful pet-friendly development, with only two brand new homes remaining for sale here, priced from £170,000. Residents have secure, well-specified apartments thoughtfully designed for older buyers as well as sociable places to enjoy, such as a communal lounge, landscaped gardens and guest suite for visitors.

2. Quarter West, Burgh Hall Street, Partick, rated 3.9/5
Developer Westpoint Homes is building 35 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in a contemporary-design five-storey block on this site within the city’s vibrant West End. There are shops and supermarkets on the doorstep, a primary school and Partick railway station are both just three-minutes’ walk away. Some of these properties come with private outdoor space in addition to open-plan fitted kitchen/dining/living rooms. Prices start at £307,000 and right now, you can reserve today for only £99 with no deposit due until the end of February 2024. 3. OneMax at Cottonyards, New Gorbals, rated 3.8/5
Westpoint Homes is also currently building one- and two-bedroom apartments in a popular district just south of the Clyde. OneMax is part of the Cottonfields development, where a show home is coming soon. The development scores well as there’s a good range of useful shops just around the corner and the area is peppered with public green spaces. Prices currently start at £235,000. A later phase, TwoMax, will offer one-, two- and four-bedroom apartments.

4. Darach Fields, Millerston, rated 3.6/5
Around four miles north-east of the city centre, Millerston is an area undergoing some major development and designated a growth area by the city council. Avant Homes’ Darach Fields currently offers a variety of four- and five-bedroom houses ideal for families, and with the M80 and Robroyston station close by, it’s ideally placed for access into and out of Glasgow. This area scores well for education and amenities as well as for air quality and noise pollution. With prices currently starting from £339,995, there are some great offers on selected plots including the use of the housebuilder’s own Part Exchange and My Move Made Easy initiatives.

5. Monument Way, Glendale, rated 3.6/5
Not far away from Darach Fields is Monument Way, a development from national housebuilder Taylor Wimpey. There are four-bedroom detached home for sale here right now, with starting prices from £372,000 to £435,000 for a number of different styles. A show home and marketing suite are open from Thursday to Monday, 10.00am to 5.00pm each day, for house-hunters to visit and discuss options, upgrades and assistance schemes, such as the current two-year mortgage contribution offer on selected plots. This development scores well for health and wellbeing thanks to great air quality and the proximity of countryside.

6. DWH @ Wallace Fields, Glenvale, rated 3.6/5
Neighbouring the Taylor Wimpey site is this scheme from David Wilson Homes, part of former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year Barratt Developments. The current three- and four-bedroom house types range from £249,995 to £392,995 and a couple are ready to move into and have the bonus of being available through Deposit Boost or Part Exchange. The ‘Dalmally’, from £359,995, is detached and comes with integral single garage, a glazed bay to the kitchen/dining room and four double bedrooms, one with en suite and walk-in storage.

This is a Persimmon Homes development on the south-eastern fringe of the city and of South Lanarkshire countryside. The two- to five-bedroom houses for sale here suit a wide range of requirements and budgets, with prices from £189,995 to £330,995, and there could be savings on selected plots with offers for deposit or mortgage contribution, or the use of Part Exchange to remove the hassles of the property buying chain, with the housebuilder purchasing your existing home.

Barratt Homes is busy at Earls Rise, located to the north-east of the city and with great access to road and public transport links. There’s a really good range of four-bedroom family homes for sale here right now, priced from £355,995 to £437,995. Some of these come with upgrades and extras included, and buyers can ask about personalised Part Exchange and Deposit Boost schemes. Being close to the countryside of North Lanarkshire make this development score highly for Health & Wellbeing.

9. Newton Farm, Cambuslang, rated 3.5/5
Also from Barratt Homes, this is a collection of three- and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, some available through Par Exchange or Deposit Boost. For families with young children, the position of Newton Farm Primary School at the centre of the site will be a big plus. It’s about 20-25 minutes into central Glasgow by road or rail. Prices here start at £274,995.

10. NorthBridge, Port Dundas, rated 3.4/5
NorthBridge is part of a major regeneration project, the largest of its kind outside London. This development from Keepmoat comprises a wide mix of homes with from one to five bedrooms, appealing to am plethora of buyers. Complementing these contemporary homes are new amenities including a garden bridge to the city centre (under 20 minutes away), public spaces and promenades, shops and a community campus.
