There's also plenty of history in and around the town with its spectacular sections of Roman wall's and ruins. In contrast, the Firstsite is a modern building with an array of contemporary art and hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Castellum Grange is surrounded with wonderful outdoor areas to discover by foot or bike, such as the nearby Colchester Castle where you can explore the woodland pathways and gardens. Not only is there plenty of outdoor space to be active, Leisure World Colchester has a swimming pool, a fully-equipped gym and a range of fitness classes. Colchester Zoo is also a popular day out for the family with over 260 animals including rare and endangered species and 60 acres of parkland & lakes to explore.

Education

Families with children will be able to make use of the great range of well-respected pre-schools, primary and secondary schools close-by. North Primary School and Nursery is a 12-minute walk from the development. St James' Church of England Primary School and St Thomas More's Catholic Primary School are both close by. St Helena School, Colchester High School and Colchester Royal Grammar School are a few of the secondary schools in the local area.
