New Build Home For Family In Whiteley

Helen ChristieJenny, 42, and Stephen, 39, moved to the WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilder’s Forest Walk development at the end of March with daughter, Ayla, 3, and while Jenny was expecting son Ewan, who was born in June.
Four months on, the couple are reaping the benefits of buying a new home in a location ideal for raising their family.
Jenny, who’s currently on maternity leave, says: “Our last home was a townhouse in Eastleigh. We were in desperate need of some more downstairs space and wanted to move to an area where we’d be happy raising our two kids. We started looking at second-hand properties, but not only were they coming in at the top of our budget, but they also needed extra money and time spent on them. We looked at the properties available at Forest Walk and realised that buying new was the best option. We could move straight into a spacious new home and there wouldn’t be any hidden costs. We also know that new builds are more energy efficient than second-hand properties, which means we’ll also be saving money in the long-term.”
It was the four-bedroom Shenton home that won Jenny and Stephen over, along with Forest Walk’s countryside surroundings and easy access to amenities.
Stephen, who works in Whiteley, says: “The Shenton property ticked all the boxes for us. It has heaps of downstairs space for us to spend time in as a family, a large garden, and good-sized bedrooms for visiting guests. It’s just what we needed. Forest Walk is also close to lots of walks and green space, where the kids can run around, and has an excellent choice of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. It is also close to Botley, where Ayla will be starting pre-school in September, which is a real bonus.”
Jenny adds: “We love our new home and are happy that we are living in a location which is ideal for us as a family.”
The family are now happily settled into their David Wilson Homes’ Shenton property. This four-bedroom detached home has a large open-plan kitchen with dining area and French doors to the garden. The separate utility adds practicality, and the bay fronted lounge provides a perfect place to relax. Upstairs there's an en-suite main bedroom and two further doubles, along with a single bedroom, the family bathroom, and some handy storage space. The home also comes with a garage and two parking spaces.
