Moorecroft, The Spinneys, Burbage - Show Home Room by Room

Posted 1 March 2017 by Ben Salisbury

David Wilson Homes presents a new show home, Moorecroft, for The Spinneys in Burbage, Leicestershire, a stunning five-bedroom detached family home

David Wilson Homes has enlisted the help of one of its top interior designers to capture the essence of Leicestershire at its latest show home The Spinney in Burbage.

The five bedroom Moorecroft style home, which opened to the public recently, has been designed to reflect the beautiful countryside of the area by using woodland themes, hand painted murals and soft and warm fabrics.

Located in an enviable quiet residential spot in the popular and friendly village of Burbage, in Leicestershire, The Spinney itself is nestled in a leafy spot surrounded by trees, open spaces and farmland, a semi-rural oasis with beautiful woodland walks just a few minutes away.

For commuters, the A5 and M69 are very close and there are direct trains to London and Birmingham from Nuneaton, just a few minutes’ drive away. For families the village has good schools and is close to the bustling centre of the village and to nearby Hinckley’s town centre with excellent local shops and pubs and restaurants.

Throughout the Moorecroft show home potential homebuyers are met with the upmost style and quality and the interior design allows them to visualise what their new home could look like once they’ve moved in.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director of David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Our brand new Moorecroft style show home provides an excellent visual tool to illustrate to buyers how that blank canvas can be shaped into their perfect home, and what better way to do this than link it to the surroundings of Leicestershire countryside?

“With a distinctive theme, buyers can pick up inspiration and tips to help them get the most out of their new home.”

The soft chalky colours used throughout the home are balanced by accents of steely blues and greys to highlight certain areas of the house, whilst a hand painted mural throughout the second floor adds creativity and flair to the home.

The colours used are warmed up by the use of white washed and white painted oak furniture which helps to keep the light and airy feel of the house.

Erica Lee, who is a Senior Designer at Claude Hooper, said: “I wanted the five bedroom family home to appeal to a wide range of homebuyers so decided on a classic countryside theme to create a cosy and inviting feel.

“This was also a fantastic way for us to reflect on the surroundings in Leicestershire and the beautiful countryside that is so close to the development.”

The wooden bar stools were chosen as they are adjustable, making them an ideal option for families and fit in with the countryside feel to the home.”

Moorecroft The Spinneys Bedroom 1 and 3Bedrooms 1 & 3: “On the first floor, bedroom one and three have been designed to give customers the feel of being at a country retreat, where the warm and inviting fabrics reflect a relaxing and welcoming ambience.”

Moorecroft, The Spinneys Boys roomBedrooms 2 & 4: “Bedroom four has been designed for a teenage boy using printed maps of the local area as the basis for the walls, once again linking the home to its surrounding area, whilst bedroom five has been designed as a smart and interchangeable guest room. On the second floor where bedroom number two, an en suite and the den are situated, the designers continued the countryside theme by hand painting soft silver birch trees onto the feature wall of the bedroom and scattered drawings of woodland creatures around the top floor. The team of stylists also keep within this theme with the accessories and bird boxes that have been used to decorate the rooms.”

The Spinney, located on Welbeck Avenue, currently has a selection of four and five bedroom homes with prices starting from £339,995.
