Home of the Day – The ‘Emerson’, David Wilson Homes
Posted 10 January 2020 by
Keith OsborneThe WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new home for sale right now – today, we pick the ‘Emerson’ house type at David Wilson Homes’ King’s Wood Gate development just south-west of Monmouth in south Wales.
Plot 338, priced at £438,500, is the largest home on the development and situated on a cul de sac, with a south-facing garden, a detached double garage and two private parking spaces. This house is a double-fronted house set out over three floors. On one side of the entrance hallway is a large, triple-aspect living room with a bay window and French doors to the rear garden. On the other side of the hallway is a dining room, also with a bay window, while at the rear is the open-plan kitchen/family room, which has roof windows, its own French doors to the garden, and a handy utility room. On the first floor, the master bedroom comes with dressing area and en suite shower room, and there are also two more double bedrooms and the family bathroom. The top floor has another large double bedroom, a single bedroom and a shower room.
King’s Wood Gate is on the edge of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within only few minutes’ drive of the centre of Monmouth. Over 90% of the properties here have already been sold but in addition to the ‘Emerson’ there are still a number of four-bedroom homes for sale in a variety of layouts. Prices range from £299,995 to £426,000, so some start at under the £300,000 threshold of the Help to Buy Wales scheme. All are open to Part Exchange, a way for buyers selling an existing property to avoid the hassle of the property chain.
There's also an ‘Emerson’ house type available at the following developments in South West England:
Park Farm in Thornbury, Gloucestershire, where Plot 483 is priced from £595,000
Moorland Gate in Taunton, Somerset, which is launching soon, with prices to be confirmed
