Home of the Day – Apartment at Riverside Quarter, Barratt Homes
The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new home for sale right now – today, we pick a two-bedroom apartment at Riverside Quarter, a Barratt Homes development on the north-western fringes of Aberdeen.
Our particular choice is Plot 29, which is on the top floor of the four-storey block. Through the front door and on one side of the hallway is the bathroom, on the other a useful utility/storage cupboard. There’s an open-plan, double-aspect kitchen/dining/living room with access to a large wraparound balcony, and there are two double bedrooms, with fitted wardrobes and an en suite shower room to the master.
The price of this ‘Tay 2’ was recently cut by £5,000 to £189,995, so it qualifies for Help to Buy Scotland, requiring a 5% deposit and providing an equity loan of 15% of the price. This plot comes with free flooring or, for buyers selling a home to move up the property ladder, the option of Part Exchange. There’s also off-street parking.
Some 70% of the current phase of Riverside Quarter has been sold, but there’s still a range of two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom houses to consider, to suit budgets from £174,995 to £279,995. The development is 10 minutes by road from the city centre, and ideally placed for the university and the Royal Infirmary hospital.
