The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new home for sale right now – today, we pick the ‘Glenbuchat’ house type at Lairds Brae, a Barratt Homes development in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire.

Priced at £214,995, Plot 36 has one of these four-bedroom detached houses, which come with an integral single garage. Into the hall and the stairs are ahead of you, but to one side is the spacious lounge. Through that the rear, where there’s a kitchen/dining room which comes with a separate utility room, off which is a WC. Off the landing upstairs are the family bathroom, two single bedrooms, the en suite master and another double bedroom.

Lairds Brae offers a mix of three- and four-bedroom house types, currently priced between £169,995 and £254,995, with those priced up to £200,000 available on the Help to Buy Scotland shared equity initiative. For those moving up the property ladder, the housebuilder’s own Part Exchange Xtra scheme is available to remove the hassle of the property chain. These homes are well located for local shops, a station and numerous golf courses, and within a few minutes’ drive of the M77, bringing the centre of Glasgow just half-an-hour away.

The ‘Glenbuchat’ house type is also available right now at:

Harwood Park in West Calder, West Lothian, with three- and four-bedroom homes priced between £190,995 and £301,995.
