Feature Development – The Grange, Shireoaks

Harron Homes builds attractive developments across England and one of them right now is The Grange, which has been a great success with Nottinghamshire house-hunters, but there are still a variety of house types left to appeal to discerning buyers seeking high-quality village life.

Shireoaks is a charming Nottinghamshire village that combines excellent amenities with countryside surroundings and easy road and rail access to numerous towns and cities such as Workshop and Sheffield, thanks to the proximity of the A1 and M1 and the station on the Lincoln-Leeds line.

On the doorstep for residents of The Grange are a Post Office and convenience store, a newsagent, fish-and-chips shops, butcher and hairdresser. There’s also a major supermarket nearby. The village has its own primary school (rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted) and pre-school, both within walking distance of these new homes. Outwood Academy Portland, two miles away in Worksop, is a secondary and sixth form school rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and Worksop College is a highly regarded independent school for children aged 3-18.

For leisure, there’s parkland, a number of sports clubs, and a path along the Chesterfield Canal to the marina. The village hall hosts a busy calendar of events and Shireoaks Carnival is a highlight of the year for the area, with a parade of floats passing through the village. This part of the world has lots of scenic countryside and is peppered with villages with their own character, away from the crowds.

The Grange is a collection of executive homes on the edge of the village, offering a range of high-specification four- and five-bedroom houses. Top-of-the-range right now is ‘The Warkworth’ at £430,995, which comes with an integral double garage. There’s a lounge at the front of this property too, accessed through double doors from the hallway. To one side of the kitchen/dining room is a utility room, off which is a WC and a door to the outside. On the other is a family room, accessed through another pair of double doors – which if left open provide a spacious open-plan space for cooking, eating and relaxing together. French doors lead to the west-facing rear garden. Upstairs, bedrooms one and two both have en suite shower rooms, and bedroom one has the bonus of a dressing area with a generous amount of built-in wardrobe storage. Both the other bedrooms are comfortable doubles and they can share the four-piece family bathroom.
