First Time Buyer Home Show Coming this Weekend

Posted 4 March 2020 by Katie Sakka

If you are an aspiring first time buyer in London or the South East this weekend offers you an opportunity to receive advice on home buying free of charge, no strings attached, with a range of solicitors, mortgage and financial advisors, alongside Help to Buy and Shared Ownership experts, and housebuilders with the latest properties available.

Aspiring homeowners in London will be set to kickstart their homebuying goals in 2020 by attending the First Time Buyer Home Show, which is returning to the Old Town Hall in Stratford E15 on Saturday 7th March. Completely free to attend, this popular event is set to once again help first time buyers receive a wide range of advice and support to help them get on the property ladder.

London’s first time buyers continue to look east in search of green space, art, retail, and culture, with Stratford fast transforming into a dynamic hub for those searching for lifestyle with a more manageable price tag. With Crossrail set to arrive in 2021, buyers looking to locate to the area will also be set to invest in even faster links to the city. The increase in popularity in East London is reflected in a recent house price boom, which has seen property values in Newham increase by 49 per cent over the past 5 years.

Lynda Clark, Director of the First Time Buyer Home Show, says: “Stratford has always been on the radar for smart homebuyers looking to invest in affordable pockets in Europe’s most expensive city. However, since the 2012 London Olympics, Stratford has grown to become a cultural quarter, resulting in a homebuying boom in this busy corner of East London. And it looks like there’s no sign of it stopping anytime soon, with Crossrail, the new V&A East project, and more on the way.”

The First Time Buyer Home Show is set to open its doors at 10am on Saturday 7th March, with a goal to show potential buyers that not only is homeownership possible in London, but also that areas such as Stratford offer priced-out buyers the chance to get on the housing ladder. Last year, a record number of Londoners visited the First Time Buyer Home Show, and this year, organisers are expecting to help even more people get onto the property ladder.

On the day, a range of exhibitors, including headline sponsor SiteSales, will be on hand to offer visitors informal advice about how to get a foot up on the property ladder in London. Visitors will be able to ask questions about mortgages and finance, the different types of home buying schemes available, the buying process, the kinds of homes that are available to purchase locally, and more. Visitors will also be able to attend useful seminars on key homebuying topics delivered by industry specialists.

The First Time Buyer Home Show 2019

Ria Saulter, Director at SiteSales Property Group, said: “Having operated in and around Stratford and East London for many years now, we have definitely experienced an increase in interest from buyers looking to purchase their first home in the area. The First Time Buyer Home Show in Stratford is a unique opportunity to meet face to face with a range of homebuyers, be it at the start or the final stages of their homebuying journey. Too often advice can be confusing and misleading, but we aim to offer helpful and relevant support to anyone who comes along on the day.”

Lynda Clark adds: “The First Time Buyer Home Show is an opportunity for eager homebuyers to get a foot up the ladder and have the chance to learn about buying their first home. We know that first time buyer budgets are often stretched in many directions, especially in London, which is why this free event is so valuable to aspiring homebuyers to help them understand all of the options available."

“One of the most valuable parts of The First Time Buyer Home Show is that everything you could ever need to know when it comes to buying your own home is all available in one place.”

The First Time Buyer Home Show will be held on Saturday 7th March at the Old Town Hall in Stratford E15, between 10am and 4pm. For further details about attending the show including exhibitors and seminars, first time buyers can register their interest on the site.
