The South West corner of England has become a prime place to live or buy a second home to enjoy some of the country’s most attractive coastline.
Urban life in lockdown, and the realisation that a daily commute is unnecessary for many, has seen people seriously considering moving to somewhere more scenic.
Melanie Omirou, group managing director of regional housebuilder Acorn Property Group, said: “We are seeing clear signs of people actively searching for a lifestyle change. Since lockdown restrictions have started to ease we have seen a 144% increase in leads year on year along with a number of new reservations agreed.”
Ian Lillicrap of Cornish estate agency Lillicrap Chilcott recently told Business Live: “People are interested in Cornwall just as much, and maybe even more so, than before this situation flared up. The market has a spring in its step.”
