Today’s Best New Homes In Rugby

Posted 13 October 2022 by Keith Osborne

What are the best new homes available in Rugby, Warwickshire? We look around the town and find out...

We visit Rugby to find out what makes it a great place to live, and the great range of brand new homes available there…

Rugby is a major town in Warwickshire which offers a great life to its residents, with over 100,000 within the borough in and around it. Its history pre-dates the Domesday Book but it wasn’t until the Victorian era that it expanded and became one of the most important places in the whole of the West Midlands.

Most notable in the engineering, clothing and cement production industries, a host of railway connections meant it could easily supply many parts of the UK. In the 20th century, the creation of roads such as the M1, M6 and M45 enhanced its connectivity further. Road and rail routes put numerous other towns and cities within easy reach: London is just over 80 miles away (one hour by train to Euston), Birmingham city centre around half-an-hour away and the likes of Coventry, Northampton, Stafford and Leicester among other places. Bus and coach services are very thorough too.

Rugby is perhaps best-known for being the birthplace of the sport named after it, but it is also where the jet engine was invented and one of the places that inspired the creation of the Olympic Games. The centre of the town reflects its history with the majority of buildings from the Victorian era and 20th century, though it is also dotted with older properties.

The town has many essential amenities, such as the Hospital of St Cross, medical and wellbeing services and a wide range of shops. There are also several arts, culture, sports, nature and recreation venues. A quick look at websites such as TripAdvisor and OpenTable show a diverse list of high-scoring places to eat and drink.

Its public school is undoubtedly the most famous but the Rugby town and suburbs have a range of state schools for children of all ages rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

In all, Rugby has a lot to appeal to people of all ages and lifestyles, and this is reflected in the range of brand new homes for sale there right now.

Prices start at £345,000 for the ‘Oxford’, a three-bedroom semi-detached house with an en suite to the main bedroom, Smeg appliances to its fitted kitchen, and a HIVE smart home system.
