The Best Market Town New Homes In Nottinghamshire

Bingham

Bingham itself has a good range of shops, places to eat and drink, numerous sports clubs, and useful amenities including schools rated ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Situated by the crossing of the A46 and A52, Bingham is well located for convenient journeys to numerous regional towns and cities, making it an ideal place to live for commuters to the likes of Nottingham, Newark, Grantham and Leicester. Its railway station offers direct services to Nottingham, Skegness and Norwich.

Barratt Developments, a former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year, is very busy here at a development called Romans’ Quarter. Under its Barratt Homes brand, on Phase 3 are currently some impressive four- and five-bedroom for sale there with starting prices from £334,995 to £544,995. There are exceptional deals and incentives on selected plots right now, from mortgages contributions to Part Exchange and a Key Worker Deposit Scheme. The ‘Lamberton’ is a detached four-/five-bedroom house priced from £499,995 that comes with upgraded kitchen and flooring packages worth £9,550 and £12,749 Stamp Duty paid. The David Wilson Homes brand here also has four- and five-bedroom homes for sales from £479,995 to £679,995. The ‘Henley’, at £599,995, is ready to move into, comes with £15,000 worth of upgrades and an offer of a two-year mortgage contribution.

Retford

In the north of the county – nearer Sheffield than Nottingham – Retford is one of England’s oldest market towns. With many protected historic buildings, the town centre offers good shops and services, and Kings Park is a delightful green space by the riverside. Just a few miles from the A1 and with its own station on the East Coast Main Line and Sheffield-Lincoln lines, it is ideal for connection to many places outside of the local area.

Among the new homes developments underway right now is Trinity Fields, bringing two-, three- and four-bedroom properties right now starting from £249,995 for the three-bedroom ‘Hivestone’ on Plot 47, an energy-efficient detached house with en suite master bedroom and two private parking spaces.

Linden Homes has three- and four-bedroom homes for sale on the open market at Treswell Gardens for budgets between £199,950 and £309,950, but qualifying first-time buyers on a modest budget may be able to take advantage of the Home Reach scheme here, an opportunity to ‘part buy-part rent’ a brand new home. The three-bedroom, three-storey ‘Wyatt’ is priced £107,475 based on 50% share (full market price £214,950) and offers a kitchen/dining room, separate lounge, a top floor dedicated to en suite bedroom one, and two private parking spaces.

Beeston

Beeston has lots of its own shops and amenities but is only three miles or so from the centre of Nottingham, ideally located for business or pleasure. Just to the north is a campus for the University of Nottingham, but for younger families, the area has some well-rated schools too. The Attenborough Nature Reserve and the River rent are to its east, and major roads the A52 and M1 are very close by for easy connections across the Midlands and beyond.

On Technology Drive is Beeston Quarter, a Barratt Homes development which is now over 65% sold. Houses with anywhere between two and six bedrooms are currently available or soon to be released. The ‘Fircroft’ is a rare example of a brand new six-bedroom home and is set over three floors. Three of the bedrooms come with en suite, and there’s a family bathroom for the others to share The kitchen the dining room and the lounge are all separate rooms on the ground floor nd on the top floor, a walk-in cupboard is large enough to make a comfortable study.

Worksop

Worksop is a very well connected town, with a station and canal running through it and a number of major roads heading to major towns and cities. The town has a host of national brand and independent shops, a variety of cafés, restaurants and pubs and a tranquil riverside park in which to relax. There are numerous schools for children of all ages.

On the northern edge of town, close to the National Trust’s Clumber Park Jones Homes has for- and five-bedrooms for sale with starting prices from £345,995 to £475,995 at Gateford Park. At £379,995, ‘The Bayswater’ is a detached home with single detached garage and private driveway. It has open-plan kitchen/diner, a lounge, a study/TV room, and upstairs are four bedrooms (one with en suite) and a family bathroom with tub and separate walk-in shower.

Mansfield

With its Royal Charter as a market town close to celebrating its 800th anniversary, Mansfield offers a rich history and now has a population of over 100,000. There’s still a marketplace in the centre of town, complemented by more modern shopping centre and numerous shops and places to eat and drink along the surrounding roads. There are a number of well-regarded schools in the town, which has a station and is a short drive from both the A1 and M1.

Just north of town in Market Warsop is Stonebridge Fields, a David Wilson Homes development where the current range of new three- and four-bedroom properties are priced between £226,995 and £419,995. The ‘Hadley’ on Plot 4 is priced from £259,995 and comes with a south-facing garden as well as some kitchen and flooring upgrades. This semi-detached house has dual-aspect living room, combined kitchen/dining room with utility room and French doors to the garden and three bedrooms, one with en suite, the others sharing the bathroom. Outside is private parking for two cars.

Newark

Newark is a landmark town, located on the famous Roman Fosse Way route and more recently with a station on the East Coast Main Line and proximity to the A1. Its history can be seen in many retained Victorian buildings as well as its 12th-century castle and a museum marking the town’s role in the English Civil War. Nowadays, residents can make the most of a good range of shops, amenities and places to enjoy leisure time.

Beech Grove Homes is nearly sold out on Phase 1 at Orchardside, bringing three- and four-bedroom homes to East Markham, north of Newark, with prices starting at £305,000. The ‘Blenheim’ at £420,000 is a generously sized four-bedroom detached house. Two of the bedrooms have an en suite, with the bonus of a dressing room to bedroom one, while downstairs are a spacious, open-plan kitchen/dining family room, utility room and dual-aspect lounge.

Hucknall

Situated between Nottingham and Mansfield, Hucknall is a town that prospered in Victorian times due to nearby coalmining. It’s good a good range of shops and amenities of its own, including major shops, leisure centre, country park and open green spaces. The town has a couple of ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted-rated nurseries/pre-school and a number of ‘Good’ rated primary schools. For reaching places further afield, rail services on the Robin Hood line and the proximity of the M1 make it a good base for commuters.

Persimmon Homes is building an array of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes at Hawkers Place, on the south-west corner of town. Until 28 February 2023, there’s a special offer to house-hunters here – they can choose between a 10-month mortgage payment contribution when they move into their new home, or take advantage of the housebuilder’s own 105% Part Exchange scheme. Starting prices range from £229,995 to £349,995 today. At £339,995, ‘The Whiteleaf’ could be a perfect choice as a family home, being a detached property with four bedrooms (on having an en suite), a kitchen/family room, utility room, dining room and lounge
