St Albans is one of the county’s most sought-after places to live, with its rich history complemented by a host of modern amenities, excellent shopping, exceptional state and private schooling, proximity to the M1 and M25 and services from two railway stations, with a journey time of as little as 21 minutes to London St Pancras. A two-double-bedroom apartment here can be purchased for £250,000 (a 50% share of full market value of £500,000). Just south of St Albans in Bricket Wood, Hanstead Park has proven to be a great success, with only three homes now remaining for sale.
