Priority For Sustainability At Current Dorset Sites

Posted 16 December 2022 by Keith Osborne

There are sustainability and environmentally aware features to Barratt Developments sites in Dorset...

Sustainability is high on the agenda for Barratt Homes and David Wilson as they bring high-quality, eco-friendly homes to the county, and the WhatHouse? Award-winning housebuilders are taking their commitment one step further this festive season by ensuring all their Christmas tree decorations are eco-friendly.

The leading housebuilders are bringing some festive cheer to their show homes across Dorset and will be decking out each property’s Yuletide trees in only ‘green’ glass and paper baubles. And, while ensuring they do their utmost to reduce their impact on the environment, the developers are also making small changes that will make a difference.

Tammy Bishop, Barratt and David Wilson Homes sales director, Southampton Division, said: “Barratt and David Wilson are committed to being the leading national sustainable housebuilders and are driving towards ensuring all their new house types are zero carbon in use from 2030. In line with this commitment, we are also making little changes to help the planet. I’m delighted we’ve been able to source these wonderful eco-friendly tree decorations for all our show homes. Christmas has well and truly arrived.”

It’s the show homes at the housebuilders’ Quarter Jack Park development in Wimborne and Compass Point in Swanage that have all been kitted out in readiness for December 25th. Both developments include a collection of sustainable properties for buyers wishing to set up home in the coastal county.

Quarter Jack Park is situated close to Wimborne town centre and is bringing a host of house types that will appeal to a wide range of buyer requirements and budgets, with the benefits of excellent transport links to Bournemouth, Poole and Southampton and for families, the proximity of Ofsted 'Outstanding' schools. For all fans of the great outdoors, the New Forest National Park is less than 20 minutes away by car.

The ‘Kennett’The ‘Kennett’ at Quarter Jack Park

Here, 90% of David Wilson Homes properties are already sold but there is still an opportunity to buy one of the three-bedroom houses. One is the ‘Kennett’, set over three storeys. All the bedrooms are comfortable doubles, with the topfloor dedicated to bedroom one and its en suite. This home is priced from £450,000 and David Wilson is offering a deal of up to £18,000 towards your bills there.

Barratt Homes has sold 70% of its homes but still have houses on sale priced from £340,000 to £440,000, with selected plots offered with a considerable mortgage contribution. One example is the ‘Maidstone’ on Plot 118, priced from £380,000. It could be a perfect starter home, with three bedrooms (one en suite), kitchen/dining room and spacious lounge. Barratt could contribute up to £15,000 towards mortgage payments.

Barratt Homes also has three-and four-bedroom properties for sale at Compass Point, not far from Swanage Bay and set by a dedicated SANG area with over 13 acres of countryside walks. The ‘Ellerton’ on Plot 75, priced from £389,950, is a three-bedroom mid-terrace house with kitchen/dining room, separate lounge and en suite to bedroom one. Outside are two private parking spaces. There’s an offer of £15,000 towards the deposit for qualifying buyers.
