A popular new house type from CALA Homes at its Ratho development

Posted 1 August 2016 by Keith Osborne

CALA Homes has seen a great deal of buyer interest in a new split-level house type that it has introduced at one of its Edinburgh developments...

Multi-award-winning housebuilder CALA Homes has introduced a brand new house type at Craigpark, its latest development in Ratho, Edinburgh.

The ‘Fraser’ is a quirky, split-level four-bedroom detached home that is now exclusively available at the second phase of the development. There are just two of these homes available on this phase and they follow on the heels of a few in the first phase, which proved very popular with house-hunters.

Stala Thomson, sales manager with CALA Homes (East), says: “We are very excited to have launched our ‘Fraser’ homes at Craigpark; our phase one ‘Frasers’ sold extremely quickly, and the unveiling of our first ‘Fraser’ at the development was very well received. These stunning split-level homes are the first of their kind for CALA East and we can’t wait for more homebuyers to see them.

“So far, homes at this development have been selling extremely well so we are delighted to be moving into our second phase and to continue offering something a little different to the market. The spacious design of the ‘Fraser’ makes it ideal for families, which ties in perfectly with the excellent schooling facilities in the local area.”

This house type is set out over three floors and includes a formal lounge and integral garage, a large, open-plan kitchen and family area with utility room and outside decking, and four bedrooms, together with a well-equipped family bathroom. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, while the master and second bedroom on the upper ground floor also each have an en suite.

The second phase a Craigpark has a range of four- and five house types to choose from, starting from £395,000. Part exchange is available and the housebuilder is offering a contribution to LBTT.

The development is surrounded by woodland and is within close proximity of a wide range of amenities. Close by are a well-established marina and a former quarry, which is currently being converted to a country park, completion scheduled for 2020.

The area is excellent for family life, with numerous good schools and a varied collection of leisure activities. Commuter buyers will appreciate the easy reach of the city centre and connections elsewhere via the M8, M9 and Forth Road Bridge.

Thomson adds: “Craigpark is the perfect choice for those who are working in the centre of the capital during the day, but who wish to exchange this for a sense of tranquillity in which they can enjoy family life outdoors in the evenings and on weekends. Ratho is a fantastically positioned suburb with everything a homeowner needs, but it’s the lifestyle and panoramic views across Edinburgh and beyond that really separate it from the rest, with Craigpark offering instant access to stunning scenery and fabulous walks.”

The development is open seven days a week, with a show village for house-hunters to explore.
