Redrow has opened new show homes at a development in Basingstoke and another in Maidstone...

Redrow – a multiple winner of prestigious WhatHouse? Awards – has opened show homes at two of its developments in the Home Counties.

Prospective buyers are invited to Cromwell Court in Basingstoke explore the fully furnished three-bedroom ‘Oxford Lifestyle’ and the brand new five-bedroom ‘Hampstead’, both of which are from Redrow’s award winning Heritage Collection. Inspired by the late 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement, these homes reflect the traditional local architecture and feature intricately designed red or yellow brick exteriors, with classic aesthetics such as gable ended roofs. Meanwhile interiors are bright and modern.

The ‘Hampstead’ benefits from a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area that opens out onto the garden through a set of French doors, enabling natural light to flow through the property. This is accompanied by a separate and expansive living room alongside a utility room. Upstairs there are five spacious bedrooms, two of which have ensuite bathrooms, and there is also the option to add a home office.

The ‘Oxford Lifestyle’ comprises of a generously sized master bedroom and large walk-in wardrobe. In addition, all three bedrooms come with en suite bathrooms. The downstairs floor is designed around family life with flexible living space, including a kitchen and dining room which opens out onto a spacious garden alongside a handy utility room with its own garden entrance. The house also benefits from a separate lounge and an integrated garage.

Cromwell Court is set amongst 15,000 sqm of green open space and is within walking distance of Basingstoke’s vibrant town centre and well-served railway station, with trains to Southampton taking as little as 27 minutes, London Waterloo from 47 minutes and Birmingham from two hours. Prices here start from £609,950 for a three-bedroom home. Redrow’s Help to Sell initiative is available at no extra cost, where the company will arrange up to three appraisals of a buyer’s former property while contributing to estate agent fees.

Mark Vanson, sales director at Redrow Southern Counties, commented: “It is always an exciting time when our show homes launch as it’s a chance for potential homeowners to truly experience what their future home could look like. The careful design of our homes combined with the idyllic location of Basingstoke makes for the perfect blend of modern city-country living.

The MillThe Mill

There’s now a brand new show apartment at The Mill at Springfield, a popular community of homes in Maidstone, on the former site of the Whatman Paper Mill.

Once fully built, the scheme will house 140 one- and two-bedroom apartments, situated along the River Medway, with some benefitting from views of Whatman Park on the opposite bank. They all feature open plan kitchen-dining and living areas, with integrated Bosch appliances. Two-bedroom apartments have a master bedroom with an en suite and will enjoy a private balcony, ideal for alfresco dining, entertaining or relaxing. All properties come with allocated parking, some of which is situated in a gated, undercroft car park.

Joanna Wiley, area sales manager at Redrow South East, commented: “It is fantastic to be launching our show apartment so home-hunters can really envision what their new home could look like, while learning about the buying process and location from our experienced sales team.

“It really is an area with so much to offer and an ideal spot for first-time buyers, those looking to move outside of London, through to ‘right sizers’ looking for a lock up and leave home.”

The site preserves much of the historic heritage with the former paper mill’s iconic Grade II listed chimney, Rag Room and listed beam all being retained and restored. James Whatman founded the paper mill in 1733 where he and later his son pioneered several innovations in the industry, including the invention of wove paper, used for art and printing.

The town being just a ten-minute walk from the development and the station providing links to London Victoria in less than an hour. Maidstone is also close to an abundance of orchards, hop gardens and romantic villages, and vineyards, such as the renowned Biddenden Vineyards and residents can explore the neighbouring Whatman Park, which is made up of 18 acres of woodland and open space.

Prices for homes at The Mill at Springfield start from £219, 995. Buyers interested in the show apartment launch can visit the site from 10.00am to 5.30pm, where customers looking to buy can use the expertise of Redrow’s sales consultants.
