New Customer Lounge And Show Home In Radley
Pye Homes has unveiled a new 'sustainable' customer lounge and show home as part of its Church Farm development in Radley, Oxfordshire.
The new customer lounge features a range of upcycled and recycled furniture, as well as handmade and locally sourced furnishings and upholstery as part of Pye Homes' commitment to creating a greener community.
Pye Homes commissioned Sarah Mather, of Interiors by Casa, to design and furnish the customer lounge and Rachel Nacer, from Rasalo Interiors, to do the same for the show home.
Also launched was Pye Homes' new Choices room, which aims to give customers an elevated experience when it comes to choosing options for their new home. Complete with samples of carpets, tiles, flooring, worktops and kitchens, it also has suggested décor schemes, paint and wallpaper ideas and space for every buyer to consider their interior décor, to really make the experience of buying a Pye Home an exciting one.
Church Farm, which is being built in partnership with Radley College, includes 63 houses that will be available as part of an affordable rent scheme in partnership with South Oxfordshire Housing Association (SOHA).
The launch was attended by Blenheim chief executive Dominic Hare, Pye Homes' managing director Graham Flint, Mark Giddins from SOHA and Radley College's Bursar, Andrew Ashton.
Graham Flint said: “The show home is often the first opportunity for people to get a feel for what their new homes will be like and we felt it was important ours should reflect the wider sustainable ambitions of the site and for people to feel comfortable and welcome as is our ambition for the wider community. Pye Homes has always put customers at the heart of what we do, and this new community is no different. That's why we worked with designers who shared our vision and we're delighted with the results.”
Church Farm is being built with a mix of traditional, local materials including brick, stone and wood each with unique features. All are wheelchair accessible and built to accommodate future accessibility needs.
Reflecting Pye's commitment to sustainability, the homes will not use fossil fuel boilers, moving instead to more environmentally friendly heating solutions with solar panels and air source heat pumps, to help encourage residents with living a greener way of life.
All the houses will have an EPC rating of A, giving every homeowner a greater level of comfort, with the potential to reduce heating costs.
The site also has a higher-than-average biodiversity net gain and incorporates natural landscaping to encourage and protect local wildlife, including the introduction of badger corridors.
A new cycle link between Radley and Oxford via Kennington will also be part of the development along with additional public open spaces, public transport infrastructure and pedestrian crossing areas – all aimed at encouraging greener lifestyle choices.
