Launch Of New Homes In Marcham

Posted 1 July 2022 by Keith Osborne

Pye Homes has released for sale the first brand new homes at its Temple Gate development...

The first homes at Pye Homes' new Temple Gate development in Marcham have gone on sale.

Temple Gate features a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced properties designed to reflect the historic Oxfordshire village's architectural heritage by incorporating traditional detailing and high-quality materials. Once completed the development will include 47 properties; 12 will be affordable homes, four will be available via the Shared Ownership scheme and the remaining 31 will be for private sale.

The new homes will benefit from a range of additional features including sunrooms, dressing rooms, multiple en suites, and generous storage space.

Pye Homes' managing director, Graham Flint, said: “We are delighted to be making the first of the new homes at Temple Gate available to buy. This is our second new community at Marcham, following our previous development at Willow Farm, and we're anticipating similarly high levels of interest.”

Reflecting the area's rich history, the name Temple Gate was inspired by the archaeological discovery of a 1,600-year-old Romano-British temple nearby. In a further nod to the past each of the house types has been named after people associated with the temple's excavation.

The modern-day Temple Gate will feature a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses developed in line with Pye's 'how we build' principles, based on the belief landowners have a social, economic and moral responsibility to deliver quality housing solutions of which its local community can be proud. These principles include building homes that last, and are available for all, ensuring each development incorporates space for wellbeing and looks after the local environment.

As part of that commitment, Pye Homes is planting a range of native tree species and hedgerows, creating areas of wildflowers and installing bat and bird boxes, insect houses and underground chambers for reptiles and amphibians across the site.
