McCarthy Stone is hosting an event for house-hunters to find out more about Island View for over-60s in Basingstoke...

Award-winning McCarthy Stone is inviting locals in Basingstoke to find out more about its forthcoming Island View retirement living development at an exclusive appointment-only Reservation Day event on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April.

Island View on Shortwood Copse Lane is proving to be a roaring success, with over 50% of the available apartments already reserved off-plan following the sales release of Phase One and Two, which are now sold out. The apartments in Phase Three have now been made available, and retirees are being encouraged to get in touch without delay to secure their stake in the popular age-exclusive community and avoid disappointment.

The free Reservation Dayevent takes place on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April between 10.00am and 4.00pm at the sales office at nearby development, Wayfarer Place on The Dean in New Alresford. Attendees will need to book a private, one-to-one appointment with McCarthy Stone cales consultant, Julie Mansbridge, in advance in order to maintain social distancing and ensure everyone’s safety.

All those who attend will receive an information pack which contains a brochure, floor plans, prices, and service charges details. There will also be an opportunity for retirees to make a reservation and secure their stake in Island View. Virtual appointments are also available. Alternatively, you can book an appointment to see the team at Gascoigne-Pees on Winchester Street in Basingstoke, who will be available at the office within the estate agents every Saturday.

Nicki Beswarick, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy Stone Southern, said: “We have been truly overwhelmed by the fantastic response to our new Basingstoke development. It’s fantastic to see so many people recognising the benefits of independent, low-maintenance living and who have subsequently started planning to live their retirement to the full at Island View.

“We have already experienced unprecedented levels of demand for these properties, with Phases One and Two selling out in record time, so I would urge interested purchasers to get in touch and book a one-to-one appointment as soon as possible.”

The one- and two-bedroom apartments at the new Island View retirement community are currently under construction, with first homeowners expected to move in during summer 2021. Each individual property is beautifully designed to meet retirees’ needs, featuring spacious living areas, and high-specification kitchens and bathrooms. Selected apartments above ground floor level will also feature a balcony, and those at ground floor level will have a private patio area.

McCarthy Stone’s retirement living developments such as Island View are carefully designed for the over-60s to provide the very best in independent living within a safe and secure environment, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired, as well as privacy when needed.

The running of the development will be overseen by the House Manager, who will be available during office hours. For added peace of mind, there will be a 24-hour call system and a camera entry system at the communal front entrance. To ensure accessibility throughout, there will be lifts to all floors.

Prices at Island View currently start from £243,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £343,000 for a two-bedroom home, for those who want to purchase outright. Rental and ‘part buy-part rent’ options are also available.

An annual survey by the Home Builders Federation found that more than nine out of 10 customers would recommend McCarthy Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full five-star for 16 years’ running. McCarthy Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 16 consecutive years, which is every year the awards have been run.
